What it's worth to you, after the fee
Welcome: ₹250 voucher (choice of Amazon, Flipkart, Swiggy, Zomato or Myntra) after the first UPI credit-card transaction of ₹2,000 or more
Priced on the everyday mix — 30% groceries · 10% utilities · 20% travel · 6% fuel · 34% everything else — with this card's published category rules applied. Plus milestones, minus the fee. No accelerator credit — the ranking model on /compare adds ~20% of spend at the card's best accelerator, so its ₹ for this card reads higher.

Pays from the first rupee
At ₹1,000 a month — ₹12,000 a year — on the everyday mix this card returns ₹0 gross (earn ₹0) against its ₹0 fee = ₹0 net — at or above ₹0 from the first rung we price. The ladder runs in ₹1,000 steps to ₹1,00,000 a month and ₹10,000 steps to ₹5,00,000; figures are rounded to the hundred, and the accelerator is never credited.
3 notes on the card itself: how it is issued · the network variants · why it ranks #50
Why #50 Jupiter Jewels reach Air India Maharaja Club, and this lifetime-free card is the cheapest way in. The value model counts only routes that leave a card directly, and Jewels get to Maharaja through a program hop — so the one thing worth holding this card for is invisible to the arithmetic and central to the rank. Nothing else here is remarkable: 0.4% base, two accelerators, no lounge quota.
The take
Edge is the base half of Jupiter's CSB Bank pair and the more interesting of the two for most readers: joining and annual fee are both NIL with no promotional fine print, and it earns the same Jupiter Jewels as Edge+ — the only currency on India's market minting a real Air India Maharaja Club transfer (6 Jewels : 1 Maharaja point, ₹0.133/Jewel at Maharaja's own house rate). The base rate is a flat 2 Jewels per ₹100 (0.4%), but two accelerators sit on top: an assured 10 Jewels per ₹100 on UPI spends routed through the Jupiter app specifically, and 10 more on ONE self-chosen category — Travel, Food or Shopping — switchable every three billing cycles at no cost. Point that switch at Travel and this lifetime-free card becomes a genuine, if capped, way to earn toward an airline programme with no joining fee ever paid. The catch is the same as Edge+'s: 3.5% forex on every international transaction, zero lounge access, and CSB's MITC states Edge cannot withdraw cash from any ATM. The combined 15,000-Jewel cycle cap is also murky — CSB's own T&C never says whether the UPI leg and the category leg share that ceiling or each gets it separately, so treat 15,000 Jewels (≈₹3,000 at the top rate) as the safe upper bound per cycle either way.

The downgrade
CSB Bank / Jupiter (Amica Financial Technologies) publishes no document naming a card you can step down to, so we name none — an invented product change is a phone call you would waste. That leaves keep or cancel, and the numbers above are the whole of it.
If you call to cancel
What the bank offers to keep you is the one fact this desk cannot compute. We are collecting those reports — dated, and only in aggregate — before publishing any: an offer one reader was made is not one you are owed. Called about this card? Tell us what they offered →
The desk publishes subscribable .ics feeds for the dates it knows — offer deadlines, devaluations, expiry audits. Your renewal date is not one of them: only your statement knows it.
What's good
- Genuinely lifetime-free — NIL joining, NIL annual, no promotional asterisk
- Mints Jupiter Jewels, the only Indian card currency with a live Air India Maharaja Club door (6:1)
- 10 Jewels/₹100 (≈2%) on UPI spends via the Jupiter app, plus 10 more on a self-chosen Travel/Food/Shopping category — switchable every 3 cycles
- ₹250 welcome voucher after the first ₹2,000+ UPI transaction
Watch out
- 3.5% forex on every international transaction — no low-markup tier
- No lounge access of any kind
- Cannot withdraw cash from any ATM, in India or overseas
- UPI accelerator earns ONLY through the Jupiter app itself — linking the card to any other UPI app earns nothing
- Whether the 15,000-Jewel cycle cap is shared across the UPI and category legs or applies to each is unstated by CSB's own T&C
What these points actually fly
Jupiter Jewels move to Air India Maharaja Points — and that programme prices every award dynamically. There is no published chart to quote, so we quote nothing: an estimate is not a seat.
