Equitas Tiga
KeepEquitas' entry card, built around a three-month EMI that fires by itself — and priced for an income band most issuers do not write cards for.

What it's worth to you, after the fee
Priced on the everyday mix — 30% groceries · 10% utilities · 20% travel · 6% fuel · 34% everything else — with this card's published category rules applied. Plus milestones, minus the fee. No accelerator credit — the ranking model on /compare adds ~20% of spend at the card's best accelerator, so its ₹ for this card reads higher.

Breaks even only by erasing its fee at ₹10,000 a month
At ₹10,000 a month — ₹1,20,000 a year — on the everyday mix this card returns ₹200 gross (earn ₹200) against a fee of ₹0 — the ₹500 is waived, the spend having cleared ₹1,20,000 a year = ₹200 net — the first rung at or above ₹0. The ladder runs in ₹1,000 steps to ₹1,00,000 a month and ₹10,000 steps to ₹5,00,000; figures are rounded to the hundred, and the accelerator is never credited.
2 notes on the card itself: how it is issued · why it ranks #537
Why #537 The bottom rung of Equitas' ladder, and now priced on its own currency rather than a sibling's: ₹0.15 a point is Equitas' own published figure for THIS card, less than half what the same bank pays on Selfe, so 1 point per ₹100 is 0.15% and the 3X rungs reach 0.45%. The fee, the EMI mechanic and the charges are all sourced from the MITC.
The take
Tiga is the bottom rung of Equitas' three-card ladder and it is aimed somewhere genuinely unusual: the bank's own hub states the eligibility band as an annual income of ₹4.2 lakh to ₹5 lakh, which is below where most issuers start writing cards at all. The product idea is in the name — three. Purchases at ten named partner merchants (Tata CLiQ, Netmeds, Tony & Guy, SLAM Fitness, Skullcandy, 1% Club, Prashanthi Sarees, Wedtree, Lectrix and Tony & Guy Essentuals) convert to a three-month EMI automatically at statement generation, at 1.25% a month with no processing fee, and the bank charges finance at 0.99% a month for the first three months from card open before the standard rate takes over. That standard rate is the thing to look at hardest: 3.75% a month, 45% a year, one of the steeper revolving rates on this board. Tiga is a card for someone who clears the statement, uses the EMI rail deliberately, and treats the intro APR as a runway rather than a subsidy. What it does not have is any travel benefit at all. Equitas gives Selfe a domestic lounge visit a quarter and PowerMiles the full domestic-plus-international programme; Tiga gets neither, the forex mark-up is the ordinary 3.50%, and the Xchange miles-transfer shelf that makes PowerMiles interesting is a PowerMiles feature. Rewards accrue, and they are now priced — but on Tiga's own number, not the card upstairs': Equitas values a Tiga point at ₹0.15 for travel and vouchers, against ₹0.35 on Selfe and ₹0.50 on PowerMiles. One point per ₹100 is 0.15%, and the 3X rungs — UPI, contactless and the Pay by 3 merchants — reach 0.45%. The last thing worth knowing before applying: the hub currently advertises Tiga as "Life-time Free" while the MITC's tariff table prints ₹500 in both fee columns. One is a campaign, the other is the document you are bound by.
Your renewal — keep, downgrade or cancel
This card reaches break-even by ERASING its fee, not by out-earning it: the waiver is the decision.
Keep, downgrade or cancel
₹500/yr at stake · 5 spend bands
The charge ₹500/yr
The waiver ₹1,20,000 of spend in the year before renewal — about ₹10,000 a month — and the renewal fee is not charged.
Break-even ₹10,000 a month — ₹1,20,000 a year — is where this card's value crosses its fee, and it gets there by erasing the fee at the waiver rather than out-earning it.
At your spend
₹500 a year, net of the fee, at ₹3,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged
₹900 a year, net of the fee, at ₹6,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged
₹1,800 a year, net of the fee, at ₹12,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged
₹5,400 a year, net of the fee, at ₹36,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged
₹9,000 a year, net of the fee, at ₹60,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged

The downgrade
Equitas Small Finance Bank publishes no document naming a card you can step down to, so we name none — an invented product change is a phone call you would waste. That leaves keep or cancel, and the numbers above are the whole of it.
If you call to cancel
What the bank offers to keep you is the one fact this desk cannot compute. We are collecting those reports — dated, and only in aggregate — before publishing any: an offer one reader was made is not one you are owed. Called about this card? Tell us what they offered →
The desk publishes subscribable .ics feeds for the dates it knows — offer deadlines, devaluations, expiry audits. Your renewal date is not one of them: only your statement knows it.
What's good
- ₹500 + GST a year by the MITC's own tariff table, waived outright on ₹1,20,000 of spend in the previous anniversary year
- Pay by 3 — purchases at ten named partner merchants convert to a 3-month EMI automatically at statement generation, at 1.25% a month with no processing fee
- Introductory finance charge of 0.99% a month for the first three months from card open, against the 3.75% that follows
- 1 Reward Point per ₹100, tripled to 3 on UPI, contactless taps and the ten Pay by 3 merchants — 0.15% and 0.45% at Equitas' own ₹0.15 travel/voucher rate
- 1% fuel-surcharge waiver on transactions of ₹500–₹3,000, capped at ₹100 a month and ₹1,200 a year
- Lost-card liability cover of up to ₹10 lakh, live from first transaction, PIN set or activation
- Written for an annual income of ₹4.2–5 lakh — a band most Indian issuers do not underwrite
Watch out
- The hub says 'Annual Fee: Life-time Free' and the product page calls it a 'Limited Period Offer'; the MITC v1.3 tariff table prints ₹500 joining and ₹500 annual for Tiga. Read the fee schedule, not the banner
- A Tiga point is ₹0.15 for travel and vouchers and ₹0.10 for cashback — Equitas' own figures, and less than half what the same bank pays on Selfe (₹0.35) or PowerMiles (₹0.50). The headline 1 point per ₹100 is therefore 0.15%
- No lounge access of any kind. Equitas gives the quarterly domestic visit to Selfe and the domestic-plus-international programme to PowerMiles, and names no lounge on Tiga in the page, the FAQ, the MITC or the Key Fact Statement
- 3.50% foreign-transaction mark-up — the MITC's 2% concession is footnoted to PowerMiles and PowerMiles Secured only
- Revolves at 3.75% a month, an APR of 45%, once the three-month introductory rate expires
- Points expire 24 months after they are earned, and the whole balance is nullified if the card goes 365 days unused
- Redeeming costs ₹99 a request and needs a minimum of 500 points
- Nothing accrues on rent, wallet loads, EMI, fuel, cash advances or government payments, and a fuel transaction that gets the surcharge waiver earns no points at all
- Rent payments carry a 1% surcharge capped at ₹3,000 a transaction (MCC 6513) and wallet loads 2.5% (MCC 6540)
- Cash advances cost 2.5% or ₹250, whichever is higher, and the cash limit is 30% of the credit limit
What these points actually fly
No live transfer route takes Equitas Tiga Reward Points into a programme that publishes an award chart. These points buy catalogue and portal redemptions, not award seats — so this page has no flight to show you, and will not invent one.

Does your spend count toward the fee waiver?
not published — and we say which
₹1,20,000 a year is the bar that waives the ₹500 fee. A different question from the one above — earning points and counting toward a threshold are separate rules, and issuers write them separately.
Not published. Equitas Small Finance Bank states what the Equitas Tiga earns, but has not published which spend categories count toward the fee waiver — the ₹1,20,000 bar. We won't guess it from the earn table or from a sibling card: Axis published three cards' rules on one day and all three lists differed. If you hold this card and have it in writing from the issuer, send us the document and we'll source it.

Open application on equitas.bank.in. Equitas states the band on its own credit-cards hub — "Eligibility Criteria: Annual Income of Rs.4.2L- Rs.5L" — which is the floor of its three-card ladder (Selfe ₹5–18 lakh, PowerMiles ₹18 lakh and above). A secured issue against a fixed deposit exists for applicants who cannot show that income; it is a separate card on this board with its own fee.
Equitas Small Finance Bank publishes no income or age cutoffs for this card. Blank means blank — we don't invent numbers to fill a grid.
