What it's worth to you, after the fee

Not valued. We can't value this card until the issuer publishes how it earns — every net-value number here would be a fee subtracted from rewards nobody has described. Everything we can source — the fee, the charges, the migration that put this card in your hand — is above and stands on its own; this card is simply not on the board, not in the calculator, and cannot win a best-of call until Kotak Mahindra Bank publishes terms we can cite.

Kotak Mahindra Bank · Not published · entry

Why #250 A secured card with a 2% foreign-currency markup and no annual fee — that combination is rare enough to be worth carrying. Not ranked, because neither Kotak nor super.money publishes a single accrual rate for it.

The take

This one is easier to describe by what it is than by what it pays, because nobody will say what it pays. super.money is Flipkart's UPI app; the card it fronts as "superCard" is issued by Kotak Mahindra Bank, and Kotak's own Key Fact Statement names it "Kotak811 Super Money Credit Card". The shape is a secured card: ₹249 to join, waived outright if you place a fixed deposit of ₹5,000 or more on the day you activate it, and no annual fee ever after that. Add-on cards are free. So for the price of parking ₹5,000 in a deposit that still earns you interest, the card costs nothing. Two numbers in the fee schedule are genuinely good and are not advertised anywhere: the foreign-currency markup is 2%, against the 3.5% almost every Indian issuer charges and the 3.5% Kotak charges on its own IndianOil co-brand — and add-on cards are waived. Two are bad: rent costs 2% of the transaction, double Kotak's usual 1%, and there is no cash advance facility at all. What is missing is the reward table. super.money's marketing promises "assured cashback every time you scan" and never puts a figure on it; the "up to 5%" on its homepage belongs to its UPI product, not to this card. Kotak's KFS is one page and mentions rewards nowhere. Until one of them publishes a rate, this is a card we can price and cannot rank.

Keep, downgrade or cancel

what we can and cannot price

Not valued. We can't value this card until the issuer publishes how it earns — every net-value number here would be a fee subtracted from rewards nobody has described. A break-even is the spend at which value crosses a fee, and we are short one side of that sentence — so this desk prints no ladder, no crossing and no ₹0 standing in for either. What we can source about this card is under Sources.

The downgrade

Kotak Mahindra Bank publishes no document naming a card you can step down to, so we name none — an invented product change is a phone call you would waste. That leaves keep or cancel, and we cannot price either side of it.

If you call to cancel

What the bank offers to keep you is the one fact this desk cannot compute. We are collecting those reports — dated, and only in aggregate — before publishing any: an offer one reader was made is not one you are owed. Called about this card? Tell us what they offered →

The desk publishes subscribable .ics feeds for the dates it knows — offer deadlines, devaluations, expiry audits. Your renewal date is not one of them: only your statement knows it.

What's good

  • No annual fee at all — the Key Fact Statement prints NIL
  • ₹249 joining fee waived outright by placing a fixed deposit of ₹5,000 or more on the day of activation
  • Foreign-currency markup of 2%, well under India's 3.5% norm
  • Add-on card fee waived, and no over-limit charge
  • Card reissue and replacement, minimum amount due of 1%, and a standard Kotak billing cycle

Watch out

  • NEITHER Kotak nor super.money publishes a reward rate for this card — the 'up to 5% cashback' on super.money's homepage is its UPI product, not this credit card
  • Rent payments carry a 2% fee — double the 1% Kotak charges on its other cards
  • No cash advance facility at all
  • There is no fuel-surcharge waiver: the surcharge is 'Charged as per applicable rate subject to minimum of ₹10', and 1% more applies above ₹25,000 of fuel a statement cycle
  • 1% fees also apply on wallet loads above ₹10,000, on utilities above ₹35,000, on skill-based gaming above ₹10,000, and on third-party education payments
  • Interest is 3.50% a month, 42.00% a year
  • The card is invisible on Kotak's own card grid and sitemap — its Key Fact Statement is the only place the bank names it

What these points actually fly

Kotak Mahindra Bank has not published what this card earns, so there are no points here to fly with — not zero points, and not points that go nowhere: nothing stated either way. The moment a benefit sheet exists we will price whatever it names.

Distributed through the super.money app rather than Kotak's own card shelf — the card does not appear on Kotak's credit-card grid or in its sitemap, and its Key Fact Statement is the only document on the bank's site that names it. It is a secured product: place a fixed deposit of ₹5,000 or more on the day of activation and the ₹249 joining fee is waived; the annual fee is NIL regardless. Kotak publishes no income criterion for it, which is consistent with an FD-backed card.

Kotak Mahindra Bank publishes no income or age cutoffs for this card. Blank means blank — we don't invent numbers to fill a grid.

The fine print

6 of 7 MITC rows published

What the MITC actually says — the rates, fees and cutoffs the brochure skips.

Forex markup 2% — well under the 3.5% Indian norm, and under the 3.50% Kotak charges on its own IndianOil co-brand
APR 3.50%/mo (42.00%/yr)
Late fee ₹0 (≤₹100); ₹100 (>₹100–500); ₹500 (>₹500–1,000); ₹600 (>₹1,000–5,000); ₹750 (>₹5,000–10,000); ₹900 (>₹10,000–25,000); ₹1,100 (>₹25,000–50,000); ₹1,300 (>₹50,000)
Cash advance Not available — the Key Fact Statement reads "Cash Advance facility not available"
Add-on card Waived
Overlimit NIL
Redemption fee not published

An FD-backed card fronted by super.money, Flipkart's UPI app, and issued on Kotak Mahindra Bank's licence. Fee table: "Joining Fee ₹ 249 / NIL — Annual Fee NIL — Add-on Card Fee Waived — Condition for Joining Fee Waiver: Fixed Deposit Amount >= ₹5,000 on date of card activation — Condition for Annual Fee Waiver: NA", with the joining fee levied in the first billing statement. So the joining and annual figures genuinely DIFFER and joiningFee is set on the card. THE KEY FACT STATEMENT STATES NO REWARD RATE ANYWHERE, and neither does super.money's site — its "up to 5% cashback" belongs to superUPI, the app's UPI product, not to this credit card — so the card is carried without a valued earn rate. Two rates depart from Kotak's house norms in opposite directions: forex is 2% (against 3.50% on its IndianOil co-brand) and rent costs 2% of the transaction (against 1%). No fuel-surcharge waiver — the surcharge is "Charged as per applicable rate subject to minimum of ₹10" and a further 1% applies above ₹25,000 of cumulative fuel a statement cycle. Also 1% on wallet loading above ₹10,000, on utilities above ₹35,000, on skill-based gaming above ₹10,000, and on education via third-party apps. Cheque return 2% min ₹500; standing-instruction failure 2% min ₹500 max ₹5,000; cash payment at a branch ₹100. Minimum amount due is 1% of purchases plus 100% of EMI, fees, charges and tax, min ₹100. The card appears on neither Kotak's card grid nor its sitemap; this KFS is the only place the bank names it.

Dream Different's unredeemed reward points expire after 30 September 2026
Reward points accrued on the Dream Different Credit Card up to 31 March 2026 sitting in the account with no stated expiry date → A hard forfeiture date — "After 30th September, 2026, any unredeemed Reward Points will automatically expire"

The second half of the note that closed the programme is the part holders can still act on. Kotak's cardholder agreement gives every Dream Different point accrued up to 31 March 2026 a six-month redemption window that shuts on 30 September 2026, after which unredeemed points are forfeited outright. At the agreement's own conversion rate of 25 paise per point, a year of the card's headline 4-points-per-₹100 online earn on ₹1 lakh of online spend is roughly 4,000 points, about ₹1,000 — small money, but money that becomes zero on 1 October. Points redeem against the Kotak catalogue (flights, hotels, vouchers, merchandise) or as a statement credit through the rewards portal or the contact centre, each with its own minimum, so a last-week redemption risks missing the date on processing alone.
