Welcome: A 2 kg sugar voucher — Kotak's own Value Chart prices it at ₹90 — for shopping at Easyday on six different days for ₹200 or more each time within the first three months

Priced on the everyday mix — 30% groceries · 10% utilities · 20% travel · 6% fuel · 34% everything else — with this card's published category rules applied. Plus milestones, minus the fee. No accelerator credit — the ranking model on /compare adds ~20% of spend at the card's best accelerator, so its ₹ for this card reads higher.

Pays from the first rupee

At ₹1,000 a month — ₹12,000 a year — on the everyday mix this card returns ₹100 gross (earn ₹100) against its ₹0 fee = ₹100 net — at or above ₹0 from the first rung we price. The ladder runs in ₹1,000 steps to ₹1,00,000 a month and ₹10,000 steps to ₹5,00,000; figures are rounded to the hundred, and the accelerator is never credited.

2 notes on the card itself: how it is issued · why it ranks #1079

Kotak Mahindra Bank · Not published · entry

Why #1079 A lifetime-free grocery card that paid 1% inside its own chain — and the chain is gone, along with Kotak's page for it. Carried for the record and ranked below every card a reader can still apply for. Even live it would rank low: a Kotak point redeemed in Easyday vouchers is a ten-paise point, there is no lounge access and the card could not be used abroad at all.

₹0 + GST
Annual fee1
None
Fee waiver

Ten paise a point, and Kotak proves it rather than this desk assuming it: the page's own Easyday Value Chart models ₹36,000 of annual Easyday spend as "Kotak Benefit 3600" reward points and "Your Savings 360" rupees, and ₹60,000 outside as 3,000 points and ₹300. Both lines divide to exactly ₹0.10 per point — the documented floor rung of the Kotak point, the same one League Platinum sits on. The redemption loop is narrower still than Kotak's catalogue: points buy "basic home essentials through Easyday reward vouchers at Easyday stores", a minimum of 500 points and in multiples of 100, and the vouchers expire six months after issue.

The take

This is the free half of Kotak's Easyday pair and, on the numbers the two share, the better buy of them: the reward table is identical — 10 reward points per ₹100 inside an Easyday store, 5 outside — and this one costs nothing to hold, forever. Kotak's grid says it twice, Nil joining and Nil annual, with the waiver column reading "NA" because there is nothing to waive. Then read what a point is. Kotak's own Value Chart does the conversion for you: 3,600 points on ₹36,000 of Easyday spend, worth ₹360. Ten paise a point, redeemable only as Easyday vouchers for "basic home essentials", 500 points minimum, vouchers dead in six months. So the card pays 1% at Easyday and 0.5% everywhere else, in grocery scrip. On top sits the instant benefit, which is the bit a weekly shopper would actually have noticed — a ₹25 Easyday voucher for any single bill of ₹2,000 or more at the store, and another for any ₹3,000 bill anywhere else, one of each a month — except that a bill winning a voucher earns no points, so it is a swap rather than a stack. What this variant does NOT get is the Titanium's Mastercard bundle: no airport programme, no Hertz, no offers tab, ₹25,000 of lost-card cover instead of ₹75,000, a shorter interest-free window at 48 days and a higher rate at 3.40% a month. Kotak was unusually blunt about who it built this for — "specifically designed for housewives shopping at Easyday stores" — and equally blunt that it would not sell you one otherwise: no Easyday store in your area, no card.

The downgrade

Kotak Mahindra Bank publishes no document naming a card you can step down to, so we name none — an invented product change is a phone call you would waste. That leaves keep or cancel, and the numbers above are the whole of it.

What has changed under this card

  • 8 Sep 2026 Flying Blue splits award tickets into Light / Standard / Flex — a 25% rise for the same product a program these points reach
  • 1 Jun 2025 Kotak's June-2025 fee wave washes over the premium deck issuer-wide
  • 12 Feb 2025 RBI lifts Kotak's ten-month card-issuance ban issuer-wide

We price what is in force today — a change that has not happened yet is not in these numbers. the full archive for this card →

If you call to cancel

What the bank offers to keep you is the one fact this desk cannot compute. We are collecting those reports — dated, and only in aggregate — before publishing any: an offer one reader was made is not one you are owed. Called about this card? Tell us what they offered →

The desk publishes subscribable .ics feeds for the dates it knows — offer deadlines, devaluations, expiry audits. Your renewal date is not one of them: only your statement knows it.

What's good

  • Genuinely lifetime free — Kotak's own fee grid prints Nil joining and Nil annual for this variant, with no waiver condition because there is nothing to waive
  • 10 reward points per ₹100 inside Easyday stores and 5 per ₹100 outside — Kotak's own Value Chart values them at ₹0.10 each, so 1% and 0.5%
  • A ₹25 Easyday voucher for any single bill of ₹2,000 or more at Easyday, and another for any single bill of ₹3,000 or more anywhere else — one of each a month
  • A 2 kg sugar voucher for six ₹200-plus Easyday shops on six different days in your first three months
  • Two lifetime-free add-on cards with a spend limit you preset on each

Watch out

  • WITHDRAWN — Kotak's live product path 404s, its current Revised Cardholder Agreement and Schedule of Charges contain no Easyday row of any kind, and the Easyday chain itself no longer exists
  • NO airport access of any kind — the Mastercard programme, Hertz and the offers tab belong to the ₹499 Titanium variant, and Kotak's page for this one links none of them
  • NOT VALID INTERNATIONALLY. Kotak's FAQ answers "Is this Card valid internationally?" with "This Card is not internationally valid"
  • NO CASH AT ANY ATM — "Cash withdrawal facility is not available through ATM – Kotak or any other VISA ATM"; a branch counter, a draft or a fund transfer, at ₹300 per ₹10,000
  • Interest ran at 3.40% a month here against the Titanium's 3.10%, over a 48-day interest-free period, and lost-card cover was ₹25,000 against the Titanium's ₹75,000
  • A bill that wins you an Instant Benefit voucher earns NO reward points, and neither does anything converted to EMI
  • Points buy Easyday vouchers and nothing else — no cash, no statement credit, no transfer to any airline or hotel — with a 500-point redemption floor and a six-month voucher expiry
  • The card could only be issued where an Easyday store existed: "There is no Easyday store in my city / area; can I still apply… No, you cannot apply"

What these points actually fly

No live transfer route takes Kotak Reward Points into a programme that publishes an award chart. These points buy catalogue and portal redemptions, not award seats — so this page has no flight to show you, and will not invent one.

Dream Different's unredeemed reward points expire after 30 September 2026
Reward points accrued on the Dream Different Credit Card up to 31 March 2026 sitting in the account with no stated expiry date → A hard forfeiture date — "After 30th September, 2026, any unredeemed Reward Points will automatically expire"

The second half of the note that closed the programme is the part holders can still act on. Kotak's cardholder agreement gives every Dream Different point accrued up to 31 March 2026 a six-month redemption window that shuts on 30 September 2026, after which unredeemed points are forfeited outright. At the agreement's own conversion rate of 25 paise per point, a year of the card's headline 4-points-per-₹100 online earn on ₹1 lakh of online spend is roughly 4,000 points, about ₹1,000 — small money, but money that becomes zero on 1 October. Points redeem against the Kotak catalogue (flights, hotels, vouchers, merchandise) or as a statement credit through the rewards portal or the contact centre, each with its own minimum, so a last-week redemption risks missing the date on processing alone.
