Welcome: 2,000 Reward Points on a first spend of ₹500 or more within 30 days, once the membership fee is paid

Priced on the everyday mix — 30% groceries · 10% utilities · 20% travel · 6% fuel · 34% everything else — with this card's published category rules applied: it earns nothing on utilities and fuel here, so that spend is dropped, not paid at the headline, and stops pacing milestones and the waiver. Plus milestones, minus the fee. No accelerator credit — the ranking model on /compare adds ~20% of spend at the card's best accelerator, so its ₹ for this card reads higher.

Breaks even only by erasing its fee at ₹15,000 a month

At ₹15,000 a month — ₹1,80,000 a year — on the everyday mix this card returns ₹400 gross (earn ₹400) against a fee of ₹0 — the ₹499 is waived, the spend having cleared ₹1,50,000 a year = ₹400 net — the first rung at or above ₹0. The ladder runs in ₹1,000 steps to ₹1,00,000 a month and ₹10,000 steps to ₹5,00,000; figures are rounded to the hundred, and the accelerator is never credited.

The take

Vishisht is the entry tier of RBL's Patanjali range, below Swarn, and its pitch is one number: 10% cashback at Patanjali stores and on patanjaliayurved.net, on transactions of ₹500 or more, capped at ₹500 a month. That is ₹6,000 a year for a ₹499 fee that itself reverses on ₹1.5 lakh of eligible spend — RBL puts the bar at ₹13,000 a month. Everything else earns a flat 1 Reward Point per ₹100, which is 0.25%, and there is a ₹150 monthly fuel-surcharge waiver, more generous than the ₹100 on most of the shelf. It is a RuPay card, so it links to UPI and works as an NCMC transit card. Read the milestone table carefully: RBL raised the bars sharply on 10 May 2026, and the ₹500 voucher now needs ₹7 lakh of annual spend with ₹1.5 lakh of it at Patanjali, where it used to need ₹2.5 lakh with ₹12,000. Cards issued on or before 9 May 2026 keep the old ladder until their next anniversary.

Your renewal — keep, downgrade or cancel

This card reaches break-even by ERASING its fee, not by out-earning it: the waiver is the decision.

₹1,50,000 annual spend erases that fee

₹499/yr at stake · 5 spend bands

The charge ₹499/yr

The waiver ₹1,50,000 of spend in the year before renewal — about ₹12,500 a month — and the renewal fee is not charged.

Break-even ₹15,000 a month — ₹1,80,000 a year — is where this card's value crosses its fee, and it gets there by erasing the fee at the waiver rather than out-earning it.

At your spend

₹600 a year, net of the fee, at ₹3,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged

₹1,300 a year, net of the fee, at ₹6,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged

₹2,500 a year, net of the fee, at ₹12,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged

₹7,600 a year, net of the fee, at ₹36,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged

₹12,600 a year, net of the fee, at ₹60,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged

Everyday earn plus milestones, minus the fee — the same model as the value panel above, so the two cannot disagree. run your exact spend →

The downgrade

RBL Bank publishes no document naming a card you can step down to, so we name none — an invented product change is a phone call you would waste. That leaves keep or cancel, and the numbers above are the whole of it.

The desk publishes subscribable .ics feeds for the dates it knows — offer deadlines, devaluations, expiry audits. Your renewal date is not one of them: only your statement knows it.

What's good

  • 10% cashback at Patanjali stores and online, up to ₹500 a month — ₹6,000 a year
  • Fee reverses on ₹1.5 lakh of eligible annual spend, about ₹13,000 a month
  • 2,000-point welcome on a first spend of ₹500 in 30 days
  • Fuel-surcharge waiver up to ₹150 a month on fills of ₹500–₹4,000
  • RuPay: links to UPI in GPay, PhonePe, Paytm and BHIM, and works as an NCMC transit card

Watch out

  • MILESTONES CUT ON 10 MAY 2026 — the ₹500 voucher went from ₹2.5 lakh of spend to ₹7 lakh, and the Patanjali wellness stay from ₹4 lakh to ₹10 lakh
  • The 10% cashback needs individual transactions of ₹500 or more, and stops at ₹500 a month
  • Offline UPI transactions under ₹2,000 earn no reward points and do not count toward milestones
  • Fuel, utilities, insurance, rent, railways, education, government, wallets, cash, EMI and Bills2Pay earn nothing
  • ₹99 + GST reward-redemption fee, charged once per day you redeem
  • RBL charges 1% on FIVE transaction types its Schedule of Charges lists separately from the reward exclusions: rent (MCC 6513, on every transaction), fuel and auto above ₹10,000 a transaction (capped at ₹3,000), utility spends above ₹50,000 a month, education paid through third-party apps such as CRED, PhonePe or Paytm (school and college websites are exempt), and — with effect from 7 January 2026 — FASTag loading and tolls above ₹10,000 a transaction. These are FEES, listed nowhere near the reward exclusions: a category can both cost you 1% and earn you nothing

What these points actually fly

RBL Reward Points move to Club ITC — and that programme prices every award dynamically. There is no published chart to quote, so we quote nothing: an estimate is not a seat.

What earns, what doesn't

15 sourced rules · 8 pay zero

A ₹499 RuPay co-brand: 10% cashback at Patanjali stores online and offline (₹6,000 a year by RBL's own reckoning) over a 1 RP/₹100 base. The page publishes the earn exclusions and a SEPARATE milestone-spend list, and both carve UPI: no reward points on offline UPI transactions under ₹2,000, and those transactions do not count toward the annual milestone either.

Fuel excluded — Zero RP — "Fuel & Auto" (MCC 0032, 2541, 4001, 5542, 5541, 5172) heads the card's earn-exclusion table. It is conspicuously absent from the milestone list on the same page, which the desk has not been able to resolve either way, so no milestone answer is asserted for fuel
Rent & property management excluded — Zero RP and no milestone credit — "Real Estate/Rental" (MCC 6513); 1% fee on every rental transaction bank-wide (MITC)
Government / tax excluded — Zero RP and no milestone credit — "Government Services" (MCC 9400, 1490, 2490, 2995, 7800, 9406, 9222, 9405, 9399, 9211, 9402, 9401, 9311, 9223)
Utilities (electricity/water/gas) excluded — Zero RP and no milestone credit — "Utilities" (MCC 4900), with Bills2Pay named separately in both lists; 1% fee past ₹50,000 a month (MITC)
Insurance excluded — Zero RP and no milestone credit — "Insurance" (MCC 6300, 6310) and "Miscellaneous" (MCC 5960)
Education excluded — Zero RP and no milestone credit — "Education" (MCC 8220, 8244, 8249, 8211, 8241, 8299); 1% fee via a third-party app (MITC)
Wallet loads excluded — Zero RP and no milestone credit — "Wallet/Service Providers" (MCC 6540)
Groceries & supermarkets accelerated — A Patanjali store bills as grocery and pays 10% cashback, which RBL caps at ₹6,000 a year — every other grocer pays the base 1 RP/₹100. All of it counts toward the annual milestone
Dining & food delivery full — Absent from both lists — the base 1 RP/₹100, counting toward the milestone
Travel (airlines, hotels, transit) full — Airlines, hotels and OTAs earn the base rate and count toward the milestone; "Railways" (MCC 0066, 4011, 4112) does neither
Telecom full — Telecom (MCC 4814) is on neither list — base rate, full milestone credit (inferred from absence, flag)
Jewellery / gold full — Jewellery (MCC 5944, 5094) is on neither list — base rate, full milestone credit (inferred from absence, flag)
Forex / international spends full — Base 1 RP/₹100 on international spend with RBL's 3.5% currency-conversion assessment on top (MITC)
UPI (RuPay-on-UPI only) capped — A RuPay card, so UPI works — but RBL publishes two holes in it: "No reward points will be issued for less than INR 2,000 Offline UPI transactions", and "UPI transactions of less than INR 2,000 are excluded from accrual towards annual milestone spends". Offline UPI above ₹2,000 earns and counts as ordinary spend
EMI conversions / merchant EMI excluded — An EMI conversion earns no base reward points (MITC, bank-wide) and is struck from the annual milestone spend — Split-N-Pay and point-of-sale EMI alike
  • Fuel · excluded Zero RP — "Fuel & Auto" (MCC 0032, 2541, 4001, 5542, 5541, 5172) heads the card's earn-exclusion table. It is conspicuously absent from the milestone list on the same page, which the desk has not been able to resolve either way, so no milestone answer is asserted for fuel
  • Rent & property management · excluded Zero RP and no milestone credit — "Real Estate/Rental" (MCC 6513); 1% fee on every rental transaction bank-wide (MITC)
  • Wallet loads · excluded Zero RP and no milestone credit — "Wallet/Service Providers" (MCC 6540)
  • Utilities (electricity/water/gas) · excluded Zero RP and no milestone credit — "Utilities" (MCC 4900), with Bills2Pay named separately in both lists; 1% fee past ₹50,000 a month (MITC)

₹1,50,000 a year is the bar that waives the ₹499 fee. A different question from the one above — earning points and counting toward a threshold are separate rules, and issuers write them separately.

Axis EDGE brings Accor back, drops ITC, and adds Cathay, Miles & More and Hilton
Accor and Marriott off the grid since 2 April 2026; Club ITC live; no Cathay, Miles & More or Hilton → Accor live at the punished rates; ITC removed; Cathay, Hilton and Miles & More live; Marriott still gone

Axis's own Travel EDGE terms, re-read 25 September 2026, already show the grid that went live on 23 September. Accor ALL is back, and not at the old Atlas 1:2: EDGE Miles convert at 2:1 (Olympus 1:2) and EDGE Rewards at 5:1, with Magnus for Burgundy at 5:2 and only Burgundy Private still at 5:4. Club ITC is off the table. Three partners are new. Cathay Asia Miles sits on that same punished grid. Hilton Honors is the ordinary one: EDGE Miles 1:2, EDGE Rewards 5:2, Burgundy 5:4. Lufthansa Miles & More is the exception on Atlas, which converts 1:1 there while every other standard airline on that card is 1:2; the EDGE Rewards side of Miles & More is the ordinary 5:2. Marriott stays removed. Qatar Privilege Club was already back. Flying Blue, Air India and Qantas moved into Group A, which is the capped group. The Axis Rewards credit card's Amex network is advertised as joining-fee and annual-fee nil for a limited period; there is no separate Amex variant on this board, so that offer is not modelled as a fee change.
