Chennai (MAA) airport lounges — which credit card
gets you in
Chennai International Airport runs 4 lounges we can put a source under. 96 of the 107 cards we track open at least
one of those doors
— 60 of them only if you clear a spend or tier gate.
Below: every door with its terminal, hours, stay cap, guest fee and the exact cards that walk
in. No "check with your bank".

Which card gets you in
Lounge access is not one thing — it is 7 different machines at this airport, and your card is on some of them and not others. Each block below is one
machine: the doors it opens here, and every tracked card that carries it. A card in more than
one block gets in more than one way.
Priority Pass
4 of 4 doors · 55 cards
A membership your card carries. The kit arrives by post, the door reads the membership — not the card.
Opens: Travel Club Lounge A · Travel Club Lounge B · Travel Club Lounge ×2
The lounge admits the card itself, on the issuer’s own list. No network in between — shortest list, most reliable swipe. No card "carries" this the way it carries Priority Pass — the issuer
publishes a list and the door reads the card, so we only claim it where an issuer names a
card we track.
° The access is spend- or tier-gated: hover the card, or open its page for the exact
trigger. A gate you miss is a door that does not open, whatever the brochure said.
Every lounge at MAA, door by door
Terminal, side of security, operator, hours, stay cap, guest fee, walk-in price — and the
cards that walk in. Each door carries the document we read it from.
B Travel Club Lounge A
T1 — Domestic (3rd floor, turn right after security towards Gate 1)
Chennai's workhorse card lounge; physical Lounge A near Gate 1 is PP code MAA10 (not MAA6 — that's Lounge B by Gate 5). Visa access via DragonPass/Visa Airport Companion, Mastercard via Lounge Key; RuPay credit program lists MAA6/MAA10. Amex is NOT one of them: both Amex India lounge lists name a single T1 domestic Travel Club, and Amex's own page places it 'opposite Gate 5 to the 3rd Floor' — that is Lounge B, so the Amex tag came off this room in Aug 2026.
Overflow twin of Lounge A on the same T1 floor — this is PP code MAA6, marginally quieter. It is also the ONE T1 domestic room both Amex India lounge lists name: Amex's own directions read 'take the lift opposite Gate 5 to the 3rd Floor', which is this room, not Lounge A by Gate 1.
PP code MAA12 (4.1/5); on Amex India's domestic list; NOT on the Mastercard India PDF or RuPay list — Mastercard entry is via Lounge Key only. PP lists no children admitted and alcohol as chargeable here.
PP code MAA11 (3.9/5, 3h cap, under-3s free, standard pours free) — the only international option worth planning around; showers. On Amex's Global Lounge Collection and marked Available on Platinum Reserve's own list, but 'Not Available' on Platinum Travel's, so Travel pays here. Legacy 'old Anna terminal' Travel Club listings are stale as ops moved to T2.
4 doors here publish a
walk-in price. Pay it and you are in, card or no card — the prices are the operators' own
published rates, and desks quote higher at peak. Everything else at MAA is
cards-and-invites only.

Worth doing the arithmetic before you swipe: a ₹3,000 walk-in is a bad trade against a card
whose whole annual fee buys a season of visits — that comparison is exactly what
the lounge-card ranking computes.
This is one airport out of 119 with a page of its own — the full
map, every airport and every railway lounge we hold, is on
the lounge map.
