Each kind of spend goes on the card your total above gives it, and % back is what that money earns there at ₹75,000 a month: the card's reward tiers, bonuses and milestones, after the bank's own rules for that spend, at our value for its points. Fees come off the total, not off a row. Spend outside the everyday mix (dining, online and the rest) shows the card whose next rupee earns most. A rule we have not read is never guessed: that card is left out of the row.

    How this works

Each card's yearly figure splits your monthly spend 30% groceries · 10% utilities · 20% travel · 6% fuel · 34% everything else, earns the card's published rate on each part at our value for its points, adds the bonuses and milestones it reaches and takes off the annual fee unless your spend waives it. "Together" puts each kind of spend on whichever of your cards earns most for it, so it is less than the cards' figures added up.

The score out of 100 is 60% how close your cards get to the best set of the same number of cards you could apply for today, 20% how many kinds of spend they cover at full rate, and 20% how safe the points are (recent cuts, points that expire within two years). The formula.
