That's the cheapest premium cabin to Southern Africa any Indian card can mint, and it isn't close. Aeroplan prices the same continent at 42,500/70,000 via Addis or Singapore; Avios can't touch it because Doha–Joburg is a 3,878-mile leg BA won't publish; the Gulf carriers quote dynamic. One chart wins outright.

45,000 miles Saver business to South Africa — Zone 10 was singled out for the November-2025 nerf (43,000 → 45,000, +5%), but this is still the cheapest lie-flat to Southern Africa an Indian card can mint. SQ Saver space long-haul is thin; hunt ~355 days out or off-peak.

70,000 Aeroplan business in the 4,001–6,000 band — 25,000 more than KrisFlyer's 45,000 SQ Saver, so only worth it when SQ has no J space and Ethiopian or a Star partner does. No fuel surcharges on Ethiopian Cloud Nine is the consolation.

Emirates runs a double-daily DXB–JNB but prices it off the calculator, not a chart, and the May-2026 devaluation raised premium awards ~15%. Big surcharges on top; check it against the cash fare before burning Amex MR or SBI credits — KrisFlyer's 45,000 almost always wins.

Etihad flies AUH–JNB, but GuestSeat pricing floats with demand — no chart, null. BOBCARD is the only Indian card minting Etihad Guest post Amex-MR wind-down. A dynamic, surcharge-prone detour when KrisFlyer and Aeroplan both publish a number.

India (Zone 6) to South Africa (Zone 10) on the post-Nov-2025 chart: 19,000 miles Saver economy, down from 20,000. SQ flies SIN–JNB nonstop and India–SIN is well served, so DEL–SIN–JNB books as one Zone-to-Zone award. The single most fundable seat on this corridor.

DEL–ADD–JNB on Ethiopian totals ~5,356 mi → Aeroplan's 4,001–6,000 Within-Atlantic band, 42,500 points (SQ via Singapore also books, same band). More than double KrisFlyer's 19,000 for the same continent — Aeroplan is the backup here, not the play, but it's the fallback when SQ Saver space is dry. Mint HDFC 2:1 or Bonvoy 3:1.
