  SBI drops Etihad Guest from the MILES transfer table — the last SBI door into the programme

  SBI Card Travel Credits transferred 1:1 into Etihad Guest, one of eighteen airline partners in §3 of the MILES rewards T&C. At the ₹1/partner-mile anchor that was a full-value exit, and it was the only route left after the two Etihad Guest SBI co-brands were retired. → No Etihad route at all. The MILES rewards T&C now lists seventeen airline partners and Etihad is not one of them — the word does not appear anywhere in the seven-page document. Every other SBI partner survives at the same ratio.

  SBI Card's own MILES rewards T&C, re-fetched on 22 August 2026 and carrying a 3 August 2026 ModDate inside the PDF, has one fewer airline in it than the edition this desk read on 2 August. The deletion is provable from the numbering rather than from absence alone: the table's first seven rows are unchanged (Air Canada 3, Air France-KLM 4, Air India 5, British Airways 6, Cathay 7), and every row from position eight onward has moved up exactly one — Thai from 14 to 13, Qantas from 17 to 16. Position eight was Etihad Airways / Etihad Guest / 1:1. All twenty-four other partners we carry, airline and hotel, are still there at the same ratios, so this is Etihad being dropped and not SBI narrowing transfers. The timing matters more than the ratio. SBI phased out the Etihad Guest SBI and Etihad Guest SBI Premier cards from December 2025 and reissued holders onto MILES products, and the transfer route was what made that migration survivable — a Premier holder who had spent six years earning Etihad miles could keep feeding the same account through Travel Credits. That is now closed, and India's remaining pipes into Etihad Guest run through BOBCARD's Etihad co-brands, not through SBI. If you hold SBI Travel Credits earmarked for an Abu Dhabi business seat, they are Aeroplan, Flying Blue, Avios or Maharaja points now. ON THE DATE: SBI publishes no notice and no cut-off. The date here is the day the desk read the change out of SBI's own document; the PDF's internal ModDate puts the edition at 3 August 2026, which is the earliest day we can prove, not an announcement.

  Hyatt's 'Made With Love. Served With Rewards.' campaign runs 1 August to 30 September 2026 and doubles the F&B rate to 10 World of Hyatt points per US$1 at participating hotels across India and Southwest Asia — the release names that region, not a wider Asia Pacific footprint, and does not publish a participating-property list we can reproduce. The 5-points-per-US$1 baseline it doubles comes from World of Hyatt's own programme terms rather than the release. At our ₹1.50 house value the full 10 points are worth ₹15 against roughly ₹95 of spend, so an Indian Hyatt dinner pays about 16% back in points during the window instead of the usual 8%, before elite bonuses. The cap is 30,000 points in total — roughly US$3,000 of eligible dining at the promotional rate, ₹45,000 of value at house — which nobody sane will hit. This matters more here than a dining promo normally would: no Indian credit card reaches World of Hyatt directly and the only way in is an elite-gated Aeroplan 2:1, so spending at the restaurant is one of the very few ways an Indian collector builds a Hyatt balance at all — and at 3,000 points for a free night, Hyatt points earned this cheaply are the best hotel currency on our index.

  HDFC switches on 22 transfer partners for BizPower

  Airmiles conversion via NetBanking only — no partner ever named by HDFC → 22 SmartBuy transfer partners — 14 at 2:1, 8 at 3:1

  HDFC's ₹2,500 business card just got a redemption game. BizPower Reward Points — 5 RP per ₹200 since 15 May 2026, 5X on income tax, GST, PayZapp bills, Google and Meta Ads — could previously only leave the account as cashback at ₹0.20, catalogue goods at ₹0.35, SmartBuy travel at ₹0.50, or a nameless 'Airmiles conversion' via NetBanking. From 25 July they transfer on SmartBuy to the same 22 airline and hotel programmes Infinia and Diners Black see, one notch worse across the board: 2:1 to KrisFlyer, Flying Blue, Avianca LifeMiles, Turkish, United, Accor ALL, IHG, Club ITC, AirAsia, Finnair, Radisson, Wyndham, Lotusmiles and SpiceClub; 3:1 to Qatar and BA Avios, Air India Maharaja Club, Marriott Bonvoy, Aeroplan, Cathay Asia Miles, Etihad Guest and Thai Royal Orchid Plus. HDFC announced nothing and still names no partner in any document it publishes — the grid comes from four independent sightings that agree partner-for-partner, and the 2:1 base matches HDFC's own FAQ line, '1 Reward Points = Rs.0.5 airmiles'. Accor ALL at 2:1 is the standout: at our ₹2.15 house value that is the only one of the 22 doors worth more than a rupee a point (₹1.07), and it beats every cash-out HDFC offers this card. Sister card BizBlack, on Infinia-grade earn, still reaches exactly one programme.

  Aeroplan re-cut the partner column of its Flight Reward Chart — India to Asia business up 25%

  The 2026-02 edition of the Flight Reward Chart. Atlantic↔Pacific "all other partners" business ran 40,000 / 60,000 / 80,000 / 110,000 points across the four distance bands; Within Atlantic business ran 15,000 / 25,000 / 45,000 / 60,000 / 80,000; North America↔Atlantic economy ran 35,000 / 40,000 / 55,000 / 70,000 and First topped out at 140,000. → The 2026-04 edition. Atlantic↔Pacific business is 47,500 / 75,000 / 92,500 / 130,000; Within Atlantic business is 12,500 / 22,500 / 40,000 / 70,000 / 95,000; North America↔Atlantic economy is 32,500 / 42,500 / 60,000 / 75,000 and First tops out at 165,000. Within North America is untouched, and the Air Canada / Select Partner "starting at" floors did not move.

  Aeroplan raised the price of other airlines' seats and left its own alone. The cut lands entirely in the "All other partners" column — the fixed cell that is the only honest price for anyone booking Star metal, since Air Canada, United, Emirates, flydubai and Etihad are priced dynamically off a floor that did not change. Within North America did not move at all. For an Indian collector the Atlantic↔Pacific table is the one that hurts. Bengaluru or Mumbai to Singapore in business goes from 40,000 to 47,500 points, up 19%. Delhi to Singapore, one band further out at roughly 2,570 flown miles, goes 60,000 to 75,000 — a 25% increase, and the single biggest move on any corridor Indian cards can fund. Delhi to Tokyo makes the same jump. The 5,001–7,000-mile band, which is where India to Sydney and India to Auckland land once you route through a Star hub, goes 80,000 to 92,500 in business and 50,000 to 60,000 in economy. India to Europe and the Gulf is a genuine mixed bag. Within Atlantic business got CHEAPER in the three short bands — Delhi–Dubai from 25,000 to 22,500, Delhi–Frankfurt from 45,000 to 40,000 — and dearer in the two long ones, with Delhi–London going 60,000 to 70,000. Economy moved the other way: Delhi–Dubai 12,500 to 15,000, Delhi–Frankfurt 25,000 to 30,000, Delhi–London 35,500 to 42,500. India to North America is the quietest table: Delhi–New York business is unchanged at 90,000 and economy goes 55,000 to 60,000, but First rises from 130,000 to 150,000 in that band and from 140,000 to 165,000 beyond it. This is the currency SBI Card Miles feeds at 1:1 and the best Star Alliance ratio any Indian bank currency gets, so the whole board of Aeroplan prices this desk publishes moved under it. Aeroplan still collects no carrier fuel surcharge, which is why it stays the sane Star option even after a 25% rise. ON THE DATES: the 2026-04 chart carries an InDesign CreationDate and ModDate of 25 June 2026, and a Wayback capture of the same URL on 8 June 2026 still serves the 2026-02 edition, so 25 June is the day the new prices existed. The `announced` date is the day the increase was first written up publicly — an upper bound on when Aeroplan said so, not a gazetted press date; Air Canada published no dated notice we can reach.

  Hyatt's award chart grows two rungs and a 67% ceiling

  The best hotel chart in the world got worse at the top and better at the bottom, and this desk carried the old one for three months. Hyatt replaced off-peak/standard/peak with five redemption levels on 20 May 2026, keeping categories 1–8: the cheapest standard-room night in the programme fell from 3,500 points to 3,000, and the most expensive rose from 45,000 to 75,000 — a 67% jump at the ceiling, where the Park Hyatts and Alila resorts an Indian reader actually saves for sit. The floor is a rounding error against that. Categories were reshuffled the same day in Hyatt's annual sort, so a property can have moved twice. Two things soften it and neither is much: reservations made under the old chart were honoured, and Hyatt gave twelve days' notice on its own Award Chart Updates page. For an Indian collector the practical effect is narrower still, because no card on this board transfers into Hyatt and the only graph route in — Aeroplan at 2:1 — is elite-gated: a Hyatt balance here is built by staying, and it now buys 40% fewer top-level nights than it did in April.
