Amsterdam → Mumbai on points: 42 options, the board now symmetric with Mumbai → Amsterdam. Award charts price the zone pair or the distance band, not the direction, so every program that prices the India-origin leg is mirrored here — a mirror still flagged as an estimate never takes the crown. The cheapest verified business seat on the board is 42,500 via American Airlines AAdvantage, and economy starts at 20,000 on the same oneworld region chart — the Qsuite-through-Doha backdoor, since no Star carrier flies this pair nonstop and Aeroplan's 6,859 km band asks 70,000. 18 rows are first-hand chart reads.

All-in ₹ = points × the program's house value (valuation index) + the sourced one-way surcharge; a dash means the carrier doesn't publish it and the ranking counts it ₹0 — the row's note carries the caveat. That surcharge is the airline's own cash charge on an award — YQ, as the notes below call it — and it is not the fuel-surcharge waiver your credit card advertises: that one hands back a hundred rupees or two at a petrol pump, this one runs to tens of thousands and decides whether the award is worth taking at all. “Dynamic” and estimated (~… est.) rows never compete for the play — the crown is always a verified, bookable price. Feed-ins come from the same transfer data as the optimizer, multi-hop chains included.

Chart-priced, not live seats. These prices are read off each programme’s published award chart and valued at our own house ₹/point. 37% of the 39,855 priced options on the board are stated estimates for programmes that publish no chart; they are marked ~ est. and never crowned the play. Nobody here can see whether a seat exists on your date — confirm the space with the programme before you transfer. Points that leave your issuer do not come back.

The cash on top of the miles. Lufthansa Miles & More, Air France-KLM Flying Blue, Etihad Guest, Emirates Skywards and Avios (BA / Qatar / Finnair) state that a carrier-imposed surcharge is charged on an award. American Airlines AAdvantage, Air India Maharaja Points, Alaska Airlines Atmos Rewards, Vietnam Airlines Lotusmiles, China Eastern Miles and United MileagePlus make you liable for one if the operating airline levies it, without saying whether it does. Air Canada Aeroplan states it adds none on its own metal. Government taxes and airport charges are payable in every case. Almost no programme publishes the amount, so the desk carries each one’s policy in its own words — on its programme hub — rather than a number nobody published. 10 other programmes priced here publish nothing the desk could read.

Open this corridor in British Airways’ Flight Finder → It fills in your search — AMS to BOM on 29/12/2026, which you change there. It does not show award space, and no link on this page can. It is the only carrier handoff the desk ships: Qatar returns CASH fares under award-looking parameters, Aeroplan discards them behind a login, KrisFlyer’s search has no URL to link to, and the Flying Blue template in circulation has never been verified.

IndiGo BluChip

~40,000 pts est.

IndiGo nonstop — BluChip, dynamic (revenue-priced)

IndiGo

IndiGo flies Mumbai–Amsterdam nonstop on a wide-body, but BluChip has no award chart — every seat prices off the live fare at roughly ₹0.40–0.60 per point, min 500 chips, own metal only. An honest way to pay a cash fare, not a sweet spot.

Estimate Reverse of bom-ams — IndiGo BluChip prices the zone pair, not the direction, so the bom-ams row is mirrored here rather than re-read. That row is itself an estimate: IndiGo BluChip is revenue-linked ~Rs0.50/pt; ~= typical one-way IndiGo economy fare / Rs0.50 for ~4,262 mi - a rupee offset that moves 1:1 with the live fare. Own-metal only, no partners.

Lufthansa Miles & More

25,000 pts

Air India via DEL (AMS–DEL–BOM) — Star Alliance partner award, fixed Miles & More chart

Air India Star Alliance

The same fixed partner chart — the one the 3-Jun-2025 dynamic switch left alone — prices Europe↔India economy at 50,000 miles RETURN, the same band as Europe↔North America. The halving is published, not assumed: Miles & More’s General terms and conditions for Award Flights, §1.1 One-way Award Flight, reads “One-way Award Flights allow you to book an Award Flight for a single leg for 50% fewer miles than a standard Award Flight”, and carves out only Lufthansa/SWISS/Austrian metal, where the saving tracks the dynamic online offer. That is 25,000 one-way. Air India carries it via Delhi (AMS–DEL–BOM), all-AI metal at 1.09× the great-circle — inside the on-the-way limit — and the chart’s own footnote says the published amounts “include a continental connecting flight operated by a Miles & More airline partner”, so the DEL–BOM leg is inside the price rather than on top of it. At 25,000 it does NOT win here — American Airlines AAdvantage publishes the same cabin at 20,000. This row is on the board because the board shows every programme’s answer, not because it is the play; what it buys a stranded Miles & More balance is a FIXED, published number on Star metal. The chart is miles-only: the PDF still makes you pay “taxes, fees, airline surcharges payable to the respective airlines”, so the cash bill follows the OPERATING carrier — which is exactly why partner metal escapes the EUR 395–885 one-way that Lufthansa and SWISS own metal carries. On this pair that means Air India’s bill, not Lufthansa’s or SWISS’s.

Air China PhoenixMiles

~30,000 pts est.

Star Alliance metal (LH partner metal — CA itself flies only Delhi from India), India→Europe — Air China PhoenixMiles

Lufthansa Star Alliance

Air China PhoenixMiles prices its own metal (India→Beijing, resumed Apr-2026) plus Star partners. North Asia is its only genuine strength; elsewhere it is a weak Star pricer with heavy fuel surcharges (why the currency sits at ₹0.90). India-origin levels are not published, so all values are estimated off trans-Pacific anchors. One-way (current PhoenixMiles).

Estimate Reverse of bom-ams — Air China PhoenixMiles prices the zone pair, not the direction, so the bom-ams row is mirrored here rather than re-read. That row is itself an estimate: PhoenixMiles' official zone division could not be reconciled with this corridor — Air China publishes no India-origin level, and its published zone tables do not map cleanly onto these city pairs. This value is extrapolated from the nearest published anchors, not a verified chart price.

Air India Maharaja Points

~35,000 pts est.

Air India via Delhi (Star Alliance), Value tier — no AI nonstop from Mumbai

Air India Star Alliance

The April-2026 zone chart prices Europe at a flat 35,000 economy — Mumbai connects AMS–DEL–BOM on AI metal (KLM owns the nonstop). ₹28,000 of points plus a connection for a seat cash sells cheaper: on the board for completeness, beaten by nearly everything on it.

Estimate Air India publishes no award chart. Its own Points Calculator states that “Fares indicated above are dependent on the time of booking and seat availability”, and Maharaja Club prices every award either as a Value fare (the discounted rate for booking well in advance) or as a higher Prime fare closer to departure. This number is the Value-fare floor as sampled after the April-2026 repricing — not a published chart cell: Value space is not always available on a given flight, and the same seat prices higher once it is gone. Pricing model re-verified against Air India’s Maharaja Club T&C and Points Calculator on 2026-08-09. This direction is additionally mirrored from the reverse corridor — Maharaja prices the zone pair, not the direction of travel — and has not been sampled separately.

Air France-KLM Flying Blue

~30,000 pts est.

Air France / KLM / SkyTeam metal, Flying Blue (dynamic) — or Kenya Airways via NBO, or Saudia via JED

Air FranceKLMKenya AirwaysSaudia SkyTeam

Flying Blue prices dynamically — no fixed chart. Air France/KLM pass carrier (YQ) surcharges on own metal — typically €90–110 economy / €200–300 business one-way long-haul; intra-region SkyTeam ~€15–40. Typical one-way economy runs 20k–35k; award space and travel date drive the real number.

Estimate Reverse of bom-ams - Air France-KLM Flying Blue prices this O&D direction-agnostically, so this mirrors the bom-ams economy cell one-for-one. Reconciled 06-Aug-2026: this row read 27,500 against bom-ams's 30,000, and bom-ams wins on evidence - it is dated 01-Aug-2026 off an India-specific LiveFromALounge Promo Rewards read, where 27,500 was only the mid-point of a generic 20k-35k band taken off flyingblue.com on 24-Jul-2026. Dynamic program, so 30,000 is the typical one-way level for this region-pair (range 20k-35k); not a fixed chart price, and never crowned THE PLAY.

Aegean Miles+Bonus

35,000 pts

Star Alliance partner metal, India→Europe — Aegean Miles+Bonus

Star Alliance

Aegean Miles+Bonus prices Star partner metal off one region chart published as ROUND TRIPS — its own rule is that a one-way costs exactly half, and the halved figure is what we show. India sits in the "Near East & Central Asia" zone: the Far East is a flat 30k/45k one-way (Tokyo costs the same as Bangkok), Europe 35k/55k, North America 50k/75k. That chart is a single upper-triangular ZONE-PAIR matrix — 45 published cells for 9 zones, exactly one per unordered pair — so AMS → BOM and BOM → AMS resolve to the same cell. Re-read against the chart and promoted from mirror-estimate to chart read on 2026-08-06. This corridor reads the over-3,500 mi band. The 2020 chart that made India→Europe a 51k business steal is gone — the short Gulf hops are where SUMA is now cheap. Partner awards are SUMA call-centre only, paid entirely in Miles, and non-refundable.

Estimate Reverse of bom-ams — Air Europa SUMA's chart prices the zone pair, not the direction. The bom-ams row is a verified chart read at this price; this direction is mirrored from it, not separately re-read, so it is flagged an estimate and never crowned THE PLAY.

SkyTeam partner metal (AF/KLM), India→Europe — Delta SkyMiles (dynamic)

Air FranceKLM SkyTeam

Delta has had no award chart since 2015 — fully dynamic, so ~55,000 is a representative saver-ish partner level to Europe; peak dates and 2026 partner hikes can swing business 1.5–3×. Kenya Airways (NBO) and Korean (ICN) are the strongest ex-India SkyTeam value.

Estimate Reverse of bom-ams — Delta SkyMiles prices the zone pair, not the direction, so the bom-ams row is mirrored here rather than re-read. That row is itself an estimate: Delta SkyMiles is fully dynamic (no chart since 2015); ~55,000/140,000 is a representative SkyTeam partner saver level India→Europe on AF/KLM/KE/VN/MU metal — peak dates and the 2026 partner hikes swing business 1.5–3×.

Standout value — India→Europe 45k business, India→Sub-Saharan Africa 17.5k economy on Ethiopian (Cairo is a dearer 20k Middle East cell) — but NO Indian card feeds ConnectMiles (buy-miles or a US co-brand only), so treat it as a reference benchmark, not a wallet-reachable route.

Air China PhoenixMiles

~55,000 pts est.

Aegean Miles+Bonus

55,000 pts

No Indian card feeds it — Marriott Bonvoy 3:1 is the only road in, and awards only display once you hold the full balance.

Lufthansa Miles & More

62,500 pts

Air India via DEL (AMS–DEL–BOM) — Star Alliance partner award, fixed Miles & More chart

Air India Star Alliance

Miles & More’s PARTNER chart is the one thing the 3-Jun-2025 switch to dynamic pricing did not touch, and the official Award Flight chart (correct as of 3 March 2026) gives INDIA its own region, separate from South East Asia and from Central Asia/Far East. Europe↔India in business is 125,000 miles RETURN — the same band as Europe↔North America, not the dearer South East Asia column. That puts this corridor at 62,500 one-way, fixed and published, on PARTNER metal — and the T&Cs say so twice over: §2.1 adds that for “all other Miles & More airline partners” the ask “is calculated on the basis of an outbound and return flight in the selected award zone”. At 62,500 it does NOT win here — American Airlines AAdvantage publishes the same cabin at 42,500. This row is on the board because the board shows every programme’s answer, not because it is the play; what it buys a stranded Miles & More balance is a FIXED, published number on Star metal. Alternate partner metal on the same fixed price: Turkish Airlines via Istanbul (1.02×) — both are Star partners outside the Lufthansa group, so both price off this chart rather than the dynamic engine. Two cells on the same chart row are deliberately NOT on the board. Premium Economy (85,000 return) is carved out by the chart’s own footnote 4 — “Only on flights operated by Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Discover Airlines, Eurowings, Lufthansa, Lufthansa City and SWISS” — i.e. never on Air India. And First (215,000 return, 1,07,500 one-way) has no metal: Air India’s only First cabin is the legacy 777-300ER, which in 2026 works Delhi–Melbourne and the Amritsar/Ahmedabad–London Gatwick runs, and no Delhi–Europe sector at all. Air India releases partner Saver space thinly on the Europe runs — award space, not the price, is the constraint here.

Star Alliance

LifeMiles prices Star partner metal off an unpublished grid; India→Europe business ~63k is the headline sweet spot (beats Aeroplan). Business is the value cabin here; economy is mediocre. The chart is semi-fixed/unpublished, so some bands are estimates.

Estimate Reverse of bom-ams — Avianca LifeMiles prices the zone pair, not the direction, so the bom-ams row is mirrored here rather than re-read. That row is itself an estimate: LifeMiles publishes no award chart — Avianca withdrew its public zone table in 2023 and prices Star partner awards off an unpublished internal grid. Etihad Guest

Etihad via Abu Dhabi (one stop) — Saver Award seats, dynamic

Etihad Airways

AMS–AUH–BOM on Etihad both legs — Saver Award seats price dynamically, no published Amsterdam datapoint, surcharges on top. The corridor's fixed business number is Aeroplan's 70,000 via Frankfurt on Lufthansa; Guest quotes are a per-date gamble against it.

Estimate Reverse of bom-ams — Etihad Guest prices the zone pair, not the direction, so the bom-ams row is mirrored here rather than re-read. That row is itself an estimate: Etihad Guest Saver Award starting level for the ~4,450-mile flown itinerary (via AUH), read off Etihad's last published one-way distance-band structure (5,000-mile band). Etihad publishes no award chart today - GuestSeat became Saver Award on 13-Nov-2025 and pricing lives in the Miles Calculator - so fixed-rate space is limited and real quotes often run well above this floor.

This corridor reads the over-3,500 mi band. The 2020 chart that made India→Europe a 51k business steal is gone — the short Gulf hops are where SUMA is now cheap. Partner awards are SUMA call-centre only, paid entirely in Miles, and non-refundable.

Air India Star Alliance

100,000 points, Europe zone, Delhi connection included — 30,000 more than Aeroplan's 70,000 for Lufthansa metal via Frankfurt on the same corridor. If the balance lives in bank points, Aeroplan is the transfer; if it lives in Maharaja, Delhi–Amsterdam nonstop (40,000 J via Aeroplan from THERE) is the better burn.
