MAA → DXB 2,936 km · 1,824 mi — short/mid-haul Gulf run, ~4 hours 3 programs priced as of 2026-07-22

Tamil Nadu's Gulf artery, and the Emirates hub machine at full tilt. Three carriers fly MAA–DXB nonstop and only one prints a number you can plan on: Air India's April-2026 chart puts Middle East economy at a flat 12,000 points, business at 50,000 — and unlike Kochi, Air India flies this one on its OWN mainline metal, so there's no connection to swallow. Emirates, which should own its home corridor, prices it off a calculator no chart backs, and the 20-May-2026 devaluation lifted premium Classic Rewards ~15%. IndiGo revenue-prices the same seat with no chart at all. For a four-hour hop against ₹12–18k cash fares, Maharaja's 12,000 points (~₹9,600) is the only fixed play — and even that barely clears. Burn small here; the big balances belong on the long-haul.

All-in ₹ = points × the program's house value (valuation index) + the sourced one-way surcharge; a dash means the carrier doesn't publish it and the ranking counts it ₹0 — the row's note carries the caveat. “Dynamic” rows never compete for the play. Feed-ins come from the same transfer data as the optimizer, multi-hop chains included.

The dark side of the overhaul: Middle East business jumped 61% (31,000 → 50,000). Four hours in a regional J seat for 50k points is a rich toll — economy is the honest buy on a hop this short.

Emirates nonstop — Classic Rewards, calculator-priced

No published chart, and the 20-May-2026 devaluation raised premium Classic Rewards ~15% network-wide. Calculator-only pricing plus Emirates' heavy carrier surcharges make the arithmetic worse than the Maharaja fixed price — verify both before you transfer.

The April-2026 chart flattened Middle East economy to 12,000 points (Dubai used to cost 18,000). Air India's mainline flies MAA–DXB nonstop, so this is a clean fixed-price seat — the only one on the corridor. ₹9,600 at house value against cash fares that dip to ₹12k; worth it near peak season, a wash off-peak.

Emirates nonstop — Classic Rewards, calculator-priced

Emirates publishes no chart — the Miles Calculator prices MAA–DXB per date, Saver space is thin, and economy Savers survived the May-2026 devaluation unchanged. Check the calculator, then weigh it against a ₹12–18k cash fare before burning a single mile.

IndiGo nonstop — BluChip, dynamic (revenue-priced)

IndiGo flies MAA–DXB several times daily, but BluChip prices every seat off the live fare (~₹0.40–0.80/point) — no chart, no plan. The "award" is the cash ticket in points clothing; useful only to dump an expiring balance onto a fare you'd have paid anyway.
