Chennai's closer to both hubs than Delhi is, and it quietly changes the arithmetic. On the distance-based programs the shorter feed drops a band: Velocity falls to 89,500 business (Delhi pays 104,000) and Asia Miles/Qantas hold their Hong Kong Zone-7 rates. But KrisFlyer's chart is flat by zone, not distance — so it ignores all of it and still asks 72,000 business Saver via Changi, the same as from Delhi, and still wins. SQ and Cathay both serve Chennai nonstop; Air India will connect you via Delhi at its 40,000/130,000 Australia tier, and no carrier flies Chennai–Sydney direct. Whole board is a connection; Singapore is the one to make.
