What the second ticket is actually worth.

A buy-one-get-one is the most quoted and least computed benefit on an Indian credit card. Here it is as arithmetic: how many second tickets a year, at what ₹ ceiling, on which app — minus the fee. 25 of the 29 ranked here buy back more cinema in a year than they cost to get.

Which is the best credit card for buy-one-get-one movie tickets in India?

Emirates Skywards ICICI Bank Emeralde. ₹36,000 a year of second tickets at BookMyShow (4 times a month, up to ₹750 off), against ₹10,000/yr — ₹26,000 net, which is the whole point: the cinema pays for the card 3× over. It is not free money — the benefit switches off below ₹25,000 of preceding-quarter spend. EVERY ₹ ON THIS PAGE IS A CEILING, not a forecast: it assumes you take every use and that every second ticket costs at least the cap. A ₹200 cap on a ₹180 ticket pays ₹180, and 11 of the 29 ranked here are switched off below a stated spend.

How is this ranking computed?

ONE NUMBER: (uses a year × the ₹ ceiling on the second ticket) − the annual fee. Both inputs are a curated field on the card — platform, quota, period, cap and the spend gate — never a phrase parsed out of prose at render time, which is how a fuel board once read a 4% cashback rate as a 1% surcharge waiver. A card gets that block ONLY where its own sourced document states all three: 4 cards here promise a buy-one-get-one and never say how many or how much, and they are named below the table instead of being scored at a guess. THE ₹ IS A CEILING. It assumes every use taken and every second ticket priced at or above the cap — the issuer's own arithmetic (Axis prices the Privilege offer at ₹3,000 a year, which is exactly 12 × ₹250) and an upper bound, not an expectation. WHAT IS SUBTRACTED is the ANNUAL fee, because a yearly benefit has to clear a yearly charge. A one-time joining charge is NOT subtracted from a per-year figure; every row prints the full fee shape, so a card that costs ₹15,000 once and nothing after reads as exactly that. WHO IS RANKED: cards you can still apply for. 19 priced buy-one-get-ones sit on cards that are closed, paused, invite-only or of unpublished availability — they keep their numbers below the table and cannot be crowned. Platforms are not interchangeable and the row says which: BookMyShow on 17, District on 9, INOX on 3. A District offer is not a BookMyShow offer, and neither works at the box office.

How many cards are in this movies ranking?

29 of the 973 Indian personal cards on the desk are ranked here. 23 are listed unranked with the computed reason — named, not ranked — a bogo we can’t price, or one you can’t get today — because a card we can't rank honestly gets named, not hidden. A further 328 are carried but not valued at all — 51 with no annual fee any issuer document states, 231 whose issuer has not published how the card earns, 46 with neither — because scoring an unknown as ₹0 is a claim, not a gap. Business and corporate cards are ranked apart from these: 70 priced ones sit on /best/business, because pricing an MSME card against a personal wallet answers a question nobody asked (ADR 0012).

How up to date is this list?

The records behind this board — the card records this ranks, each carrying the movie benefit it was last re-verified against — carry re-verification dates from 10 Jul 2026 to 25 Sept 2026; the board is recomputed from them on every build. Nothing on this page is typed by hand: the podium, the table and the numbers in this answer are all recomputed from those records every time the site builds, so a devaluation moves the ranking the day we log it.

Which credit cards for buy-one-get-one movie tickets in India have no annual fee?

3 of the 29 ranked here are lifetime free. The best on net ₹/yr of second tickets is Federal Bank Celesta at ₹1,200. This board's call, Emirates Skywards ICICI Bank Emeralde, costs ₹10,000/yr and reaches ₹26,000 — that gap is what the fee buys.

Is Emirates Skywards ICICI Bank Emeralde better than IndusInd Pinnacle World?

On what this board ranks — net ₹/yr of second tickets — yes: ₹26,000 against ₹7,200. That is the whole claim, and a narrow one. No card wins overall: 23 boards, 23 questions.
