The card this affects

IndusInd Bank’s CRED IndusInd Bank RuPay Credit Card has removed the 500-point cap on scan-and-pay earn through CRED, effective 11 August 2026. Before, UPI scan-and-pay through CRED earned 1% back, capped at 500 CRED Reward Points a statement cycle. Now it earns 1% back with no cap, but spends under ₹100 earn nothing, and an 8-category exclusion list is now printed. The card’s product page carries the revision, replacing the 500-point-a-cycle ceiling it printed through July 2026. The excluded categories are transport and tolls, fuel, loans and EMI, online education, government, wallet loads, rent and jewellery.

Our take: if you scan-and-pay through CRED with this card, the ceiling is gone, so big UPI months now earn in full. Batch anything under ₹100 onto another card, and keep rent, fuel and wallet loads off this one: they earn nothing.
