Our verdict: keep (ranked #608)

This is the Mastercard sibling of the Edge+ RuPay card, and CSB Bank's own fee table already prices it: ₹999 once at joining, no annual fee, and a forex markup of Nil where the RuPay Edge+ charges 3.5%.

Our full review 6 good · 6 bad

Jupiter's T&C gives it its own reward grid: 25 Jewels per ₹100 on Jupiter Flights and Hotels, capped at 7,500 Jewels a statement cycle, and 5 Jewels per ₹100 on everything else. Jewels are worth ₹0.20 each on flights, the Jupiter store, vouchers and gold, and can move to Air India Maharaja Club at 6 Jewels to 1 point. The catch is in the same document. Forex spends earn no Jewels at all, so the zero markup is the whole foreign-spend benefit. The grid applies "from the date of launch", and no launch date, product page or apply path exists anywhere we can read. When a holder is issued this card, the RuPay card's travel accelerator moves here and stops on the RuPay. If it launches as written, it is a ₹999 one-time card with no forex markup that still earns an airline-transferable currency. Until then, treat it as announced on paper.

What's good

  • Nil forex markup in CSB Bank's fee table, against 3.5% on the RuPay Edge+
  • ₹999 once at joining, no annual fee
  • 25 Jewels/₹100 (≈5%) on Jupiter Flights + Hotels, capped at 7,500 Jewels a statement cycle
  • Earns Jupiter Jewels, which transfer to Air India Maharaja Club at 6:1
  • From launch: airport spends refunded up to 5,000 Jewels (₹1,000) a cycle after ₹1,50,000 of spend the cycle before
  • From launch: late-cancellation cover on flights booked on Jupiter, up to ₹5,000 domestic and ₹10,000 international a claim, two claims a year

Watch out

  • Not launched: the reward grid applies 'from the date of launch', and no launch date, product page or apply path is published
  • Forex spends earn no Jewels, so the only foreign-spend benefit is the missing markup
  • Once you are issued this card, the RuPay Edge+'s travel accelerator moves here and stops on the RuPay
  • No lounge access is named for this card in any CSB or Jupiter document
  • No Jewels on fuel, rent, utilities, government payments, wallet or gift-card loads, card fees or any EMI
  • 1% fee on dynamic currency conversion (an overseas merchant billing you in rupees), even with the forex markup at nil

How we work out the yearly value

We price the card on an everyday mix of spending (30% groceries · 10% utilities · 20% travel · 6% fuel · 34% everything else), using this card's own rules for each kind of spend; it earns nothing on utilities and fuel, so that spend earns no points. Then we add milestone bonuses and take off the fee.

This figure does not count a card's bonus categories (they need you to shop a certain way); our rankings add each card's best bonus category on a realistic share of spend. Our comparisons use this same figure.
