Axis Bank SELECT's ₹3L milestone stops counting excluded spends — from 1 Oct 2026

Axis Bank SELECT's ₹3 lakh anniversary threshold will no longer count spends on insurance, rent, fuel, education, utilities, telecom, wallet, gold/jewellery, government services, and gift cards from 1 Oct 2026. This change effectively raises the bar for cardholders who spend heavily on these categories.

From 1 Oct 2026, Axis Bank SELECT’s ₹3 lakh anniversary threshold will stop counting spends on insurance, rent, fuel, education, utilities, telecom, wallet, gold/jewellery, government services, and gift cards. This means that cardholders who previously reached the threshold through these spends will need to spend more on other categories to unlock the card’s benefits. The benefits that are tied to this threshold include six extra international lounge visits, six extra golf rounds, and the Priority Pass renewal. Cardholders who rely heavily on the excluded categories for their spends may find it more difficult to reach the threshold. Our take: bank the ₹3 lakh before 1 Oct 2026. Until that date the excluded categories still count toward the threshold even though they pay nothing in rewards, so an anniversary you can close early is an anniversary you should close early. After it, those spends are dead weight twice over — no points, no progress — and the only route to the threshold is ₹3 lakh through categories that actually earn. If your card’s volume was mostly rent, insurance and utilities, this milestone is no longer yours and the Priority Pass renewal is the first thing you lose.
