Aeroplan prices Ethiopian's Addis routing at 30,000/40,000, the same 2,001–4,000 band despite the detour, and Cloud Nine J undercuts Avios' Qsuite by 27,500 points. Emirates and Etihad both fly the beach run via the Gulf but quote dynamic. Burn Avios for the front cabin, or Aeroplan if you minted it through a hotel stash.

40,000 Aeroplan for Cloud Nine to the Seychelles via Addis, 2,001–4,000 band — 27,500 fewer points than Avios' 67,500 Qsuite, and Ethiopian levies no fuel surcharges. The value play in the front cabin if you can mint Aeroplan; the trade-off is an Addis connection versus Qatar's slick Doha hub.

BOM–DOH (Zone 3) 24,500 + DOH–SEZ (Zone 4) 43,000 = 67,500 Avios for Qsuite to Doha then a widebody J hop to Mahé. Steep post-December-2025, but it's Qsuite to a honeymoon island — and the only published business number on the corridor.

Emirates flies DXB–SEZ but prices it dynamically off the calculator, and May-2026 lifted premium awards ~15%. Surcharge-heavy; Avios' published 67,500 or Aeroplan's 40,000 are the numbers to beat before you transfer Amex MR or SBI.

Etihad's AUH–SEZ is a popular Seychelles routing, but GuestSeat pricing floats with demand — no chart, null. BOBCARD is the lone Indian on-ramp to Etihad Guest. Worth a calculator check only if AUH suits you better than DOH.

BOM–DOH (1,424 mi, Zone 3) 12,500 + DOH–SEZ (2,085 mi, Zone 4) 14,500 = 27,000 Avios one-way. Qatar's daily DOH–SEZ is the workhorse to the Seychelles and sells Classic space; Privilege Club's chart may price marginally differently from BA's per-segment numbers.

BOM–ADD–SEZ on Ethiopian totals ~3,872 mi → still inside Aeroplan's 2,001–4,000 Within-Atlantic band, 30,000 points (the Addis detour stays under 4,000 miles). Ethiopian is the only Star metal into Mahé; fund Aeroplan HDFC 2:1 or Bonvoy 3:1.
