SBI Card now charges ₹100 for late payments on dues of ₹101–₹500, and ₹500 for ₹501–1,000. Review your payment schedule to avoid these fees.

SBI Card has revised its late payment charges. The new charges are ₹100 for outstanding amounts between ₹101 and ₹500, and ₹500 for amounts between ₹501 and ₹1,000. Previously, there were no late fees for amounts up to ₹500, and a ₹400 charge for amounts between ₹501 and ₹1,000. The changes took effect on 1 May 2026.
Cardholders who miss payments on small bills will be most affected. A missed payment of ₹300, which used to incur no fee, will now cost ₹100. A missed payment of ₹800 will cost ₹500, up from ₹400.
Our take: review your payment schedule to avoid the new fees. If you are prone to missing payments, consider setting up automatic payments or payment reminders to avoid the ₹100 fee on small outstanding amounts.
