The famous cheap Star Alliance program that stopped being cheap on 16 February 2024. The overhaul junked the beloved chart — US-domestic on United went from 7,500 to 10,000, and long-haul business roughly doubled under new additive per-segment pricing (Los Angeles–Istanbul–Delhi business leapt from 52,500 to 100,000 miles one-way). Turkish also passes Lufthansa/SWISS/Austrian fuel surcharges and adds its own YQ on Turkish metal, so the cash-out stings. Axis Atlas still doubles your miles in at 1:2 — but in 2026 there is far less here worth buying. What survives is short-haul US flying.

Nobody here can see whether a seat exists on your date — confirm the space with the programme before you transfer. Points that leave your issuer do not come back.
Post-Feb-2024 the best value left: 10,000 miles (was 7,500) one-way for any nonstop United domestic economy hop, taxes ~₹1,500. Not an India-origin redemption — you must already be Stateside — but a cheap way to cross the US, and Atlas 1:2 makes it 5,000 EDGE Miles. Business and first domestic price higher.

New saver rate ~65,000 one-way nonstop (the beloved 45,000 is gone); a single connection makes it additive (~85,000 Chicago–Istanbul–Frankfurt). On Turkish metal and on Lufthansa/SWISS you pay real YQ on top, so this rarely clears ₹1/mile after surcharges. Listed as the headline long-haul, not as a bargain.
