RBL rebuilds the Shoppers Stop trio — Gold, Platinum, Black at ₹1,000 / ₹5,000 / ₹10,000
RBL Bank launched three co-branded Shoppers Stop cards. The tell is the redemption rung: Gold points are worth ₹0.25, Platinum ₹0.50, Black ₹1.00 — the fee ladder buys you a better point, not just more of them.
RBL Bank has rebuilt its Shoppers Stop co-brand as a three-card ladder — Gold (₹1,000), Platinum (₹5,000) and Black (₹10,000) annual — earning 10 Reward Points per ₹200 across the Shoppers Stop Universe on Gold and Platinum, and 15 per ₹200 on Black. The number that actually separates them is the redemption rung: a point is worth ₹0.25 on Gold, ₹0.50 on Platinum and ₹1.00 on Black, so the fee ladder is really buying you a richer point rather than a bigger pile of them. Welcome sweeteners scale the same way — a ₹500 quarterly voucher on Gold at ₹1 lakh spend, a ₹2,000 voucher plus Shoppers Stop Platinum membership and a makeover on Platinum, and a ₹1,500 quarterly voucher on Black at ₹2.5 lakh. No lounge access on any of the three.
Our take: these are store cards, and they earn like it — the value is real only inside Shoppers Stop, where Black’s 15/₹200 at ₹1 a point is a genuine 7.5% back on First Citizen days. Off the Shoppers Stop Universe they are unremarkable; hold whichever tier matches your actual annual store spend and downgrade the moment the voucher maths stops clearing the fee.
