What it's worth to you, after the fee
Read the ₹0.4L figure carefully: ₹2,400 of its ₹3,800 gross is a voucher or a hotel night, not points — worth that only if you would have bought it anyway.
Welcome: A ₹250 gift voucher, redeemable at Amazon, Swiggy and other brands, on one transaction in the first 37 days
Priced on the everyday mix — 30% groceries · 10% utilities · 20% travel · 6% fuel · 34% everything else — with this card's published category rules applied. Plus milestones, minus the fee. No accelerator credit — and a business card's accelerator is usually the point. This card is not on the board, which ranks personal cards only; it is ranked against other business cards on /best/business, where the tax, GST and vendor-payment rungs ARE credited and its ₹ reads higher.

Breaks even only by erasing its fee at ₹9,000 a month
At ₹9,000 a month — ₹1,08,000 a year — on the everyday mix this card returns ₹300 gross (earn ₹300) against a fee of ₹0 — the ₹500 is waived, the spend having cleared ₹1,00,000 a year = ₹300 net — the first rung at or above ₹0. The ladder runs in ₹1,000 steps to ₹1,00,000 a month and ₹10,000 steps to ₹5,00,000; figures are rounded to the hundred, and the accelerator is never credited.
2 notes on the card itself: how it is issued · why it ranks #237
Why #237 The 10X business bucket is capped at 1,500 CashPoints a statement cycle — about ₹15,000 of tax, GST and bill payments a month — so the headline 3% is worth at most ₹450 a month and everything past it pays 0.3%.
The take
BizGrow is HDFC's ₹500 entry business card and its pitch is one bucket: 10X CashPoints on the payments a small business actually makes — income tax through the e-filing portal, GST through the GST portal, utility and telecom bills through PayZapp and SmartPay, flights and hotels on MyBiz, and business software through SmartBuy BizDeals. Ten CashPoints per ₹100 at the ₹0.30 the Business Catalogue pays is 3%, and HDFC's own "up to 3%" headline is that arithmetic. Now read the cap, because the cap is the product: 1,500 CashPoints a statement cycle. That is roughly ₹15,000 of accelerated spend a month, worth ₹450, and the bucket will not open at all until you have put ₹10,000 through it in the same cycle. A business paying a ₹2 lakh GST challan gets the same ₹450 as one paying ₹15,000. Everything past the cap, and everything outside those merchants, earns 2 CashPoints per ₹200 — 0.3%. The rest is decent housekeeping: ₹500 waived at ₹1 lakh of anniversary spend, which almost any GST- registered business clears; a ₹250 voucher for the first swipe; 2,000 CashPoints each quarter you spend ₹1 lakh, worth about ₹600 at this card's own redemption rate; a 1% fuel surcharge waiver capped at ₹250 a cycle; and up to 55 days of interest-free credit, which on a tax payment is the actual benefit nobody prints on the banner. There is no lounge access and no transfer partner — BizGrow CashPoints reach no airline and no hotel, and the best door out of them is a ₹0.30 business catalogue. Take it for the float and the tax bucket, and do not expect it to feed a points balance.
Your renewal — keep, downgrade or cancel
This card reaches break-even by ERASING its fee, not by out-earning it: the waiver is the decision.
Keep, downgrade or cancel
₹500/yr at stake · 5 spend bands
The charge ₹500/yr
The waiver ₹1,00,000 of spend in the year before renewal — about ₹8,333 a month — and the renewal fee is not charged.
Break-even ₹9,000 a month — ₹1,08,000 a year — is where this card's value crosses its fee, and it gets there by erasing the fee at the waiver rather than out-earning it.
At your spend
₹900 a year, net of the fee, at ₹3,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged
₹4,200 a year, net of the fee, at ₹6,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged
₹6,000 a year, net of the fee, at ₹12,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged
₹13,200 a year, net of the fee, at ₹36,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged
₹20,400 a year, net of the fee, at ₹60,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged

The downgrade
HDFC Bank publishes no document naming a card you can step down to, so we name none — an invented product change is a phone call you would waste. That leaves keep or cancel, and the numbers above are the whole of it.
What has changed under this card
- 1 Sep 2026 SmartBuy moves Amazon Pay gift cards to 1X under Insta Deals issuer-wide
- 1 Jul 2026 HDFC caps SmartBuy brand-voucher rewards issuer-wide
- 15 May 2026 HDFC lifts its DCC markup to 1.75% across the card range issuer-wide

What's good
- 10X CashPoints on income tax, GST, PayZapp and SmartPay bills, MyBiz travel and business software — 3% at the ₹0.30 Business Catalogue rate
- Up to 55 days of interest-free credit on a tax or GST payment
- ₹500 joining and renewal fee waived on ₹1 lakh of anniversary-year spend
- ₹250 gift voucher for one transaction in the first 37 days
- 2,000 CashPoints every quarter you spend ₹1,00,000 — about ₹600 at this card's own rate
- 1% fuel surcharge waiver at all fuel stations, on transactions between ₹400 and ₹5,000, capped at ₹250 a statement cycle
- GST number can be linked to the card for input-tax-credit and expense tracking
Watch out
- The 10X bucket caps at 1,500 CashPoints a statement cycle — about ₹15,000 of accelerated spend a month, and ₹450 of value, no matter how large the GST challan
- The 10X bucket does not open until you have spent ₹10,000 in that statement cycle on those merchants
- CashPoints on this card are worth ₹0.30 at best (Business Catalogue), ₹0.25 on SmartBuy travel and the product catalogue, and only ₹0.20 as statement credit
- 0.3% on everything else — 2 CashPoints per ₹200
- A card-wide ceiling of 15,000 CashPoints a statement cycle applies on top of the bucket caps
- The quarterly 2,000-point bonus excludes rent and petrol from the ₹1 lakh it counts
- No lounge access, and CashPoints reach no airline or hotel programme — a minimum of 2,500 points is needed even to take them as statement credit
- Unredeemed CashPoints lapse two years after accumulation
- HDFC changed this card's terms on 15 May 2026 — read the change notice before assuming an older review still holds
What these points actually fly
No live transfer route takes HDFC Bank CashPoints into a programme that publishes an award chart. These points buy catalogue and portal redemptions, not award seats — so this page has no flight to show you, and will not invent one.

What earns, what doesn't
3 sourced rules
BizGrow's headline is "Up to 3% Savings on Utility, IT & GST Payments" — which makes it the mirror image of HDFC's own UPI RuPay Biz card, where government transactions earn nothing at all. Same bank, same business customer, opposite answer on the largest line a small business pays. Read "3%" as CashPoints, not rupees. HDFC's quarterly milestone here is 2,000 CashPoints on ₹1,00,000 of spend "on all retail spends excluding rent and petrol"; that ladder is not modelled on this card, so no gate answer is asserted, and rent and fuel get no row because HDFC publishes their milestone treatment and not their earn treatment.
- Utilities (electricity/water/gas) · accelerated Up to 3% in CashPoints on utility payments, and HDFC pairs the card with SmartPay — "an automatic payment facility available on your Credit Card to pay your utility bills" — plus assured cashback up to ₹1,800 in the first year and vouchers worth up to ₹800 for adding two or more bills to SmartPay
- Government / tax · accelerated Up to 3% in CashPoints on income-tax and GST payments — HDFC's own framing, "Up to 3% Savings on Utility, IT & GST Payments" — 10 CashPoints per ₹100 at ₹0.30 apiece, unlocking only above ₹10,000 of spend in a statement cycle and capped at 1,500 CashPoints a cycle, one ceiling SHARED across the whole 10X leg (tax, GST, PayZapp and SmartPay bills, MyBiz travel, business software); HDFC publishes no split of it, so none of it belongs to a tax payment alone. Set against HDFC's UPI RuPay Biz card, which excludes "Education and Govt Related Transactions" from all three of its buckets, this is the HDFC business card to put a tax payment on
- Groceries & supermarkets · accelerated HDFC names grocery purchase via DMart as a benefit rung on this card, over a base of 2 CashPoints per ₹200. A grocer that is not DMart earns the base rung
Does your spend count toward the fee waiver?
not published — and we say which
₹1,00,000 a year is the bar that waives the ₹500 fee. A different question from the one above — earning points and counting toward a threshold are separate rules, and issuers write them separately.
Not published. HDFC Bank states what the HDFC Bank BizGrow earns and does not earn, but has not published which spend categories count toward the fee waiver — the ₹1,00,000 bar. We won't guess it from the earn table or from a sibling card: Axis published three cards' rules on one day and all three lists differed. If you hold this card and have it in writing from the issuer, send us the document and we'll source it.

The fine print
7 of 7 MITC rows published
What the MITC actually says — the rates, fees and cutoffs the brochure skips.
Membership fee ₹500 to take and ₹500 to renew, waived at ₹1,00,000 of spend in the year — double what BizFirst and GIGA Business ask at the identical fee, which is the only thing separating the three in this document’s fee grid. Fuel surcharge is waived at 1% on transactions from ₹400 to ₹5,000, capped ₹250 a statement cycle. One business-card carve-out to read: education-related transactions earn NO reward points on this card, a rule the MITC applies across the Biz range. Shelf-wide charges from the same document: cash processing ₹100 for any payment made over a branch counter or at an ATM, payment return 2% of the payment amount, 1% on online skill-based gaming above ₹10,000 in a calendar month and 1% on wallet loading above ₹10,000 (both from 1-Jul-2025, each capped ₹4,999 a month), and reward points on insurance capped at 2,000 a month.

- 1 Sept 2026SmartBuy moves Amazon Pay gift cards to 1X under Insta DealsAmazon Pay Gift Voucher sat in SmartBuy's accelerated tier — 'up to 5X Reward Points or 5% cashback' → 'Insta Deals: 1 % Instant Discount + 1X Reward Points' — this brand is out of the accelerated tier
The most-farmed HDFC voucher route stopped being a points play. SmartBuy's own voucher storefront now shows the Amazon Pay Gift Voucher under a new "Insta Deals" tile reading "1 % Instant Discount + 1X Reward Points", and the page's own description flipped from "up to 5X Reward Points or 5% cashback" to "up to 1X". The comparison that settles it sits on the same storefront: the Amazon Fresh voucher still carries an "Accelerated Rewards — Upto 5X Reward Points RPs / 5% Cashback" block that the Amazon Pay page no longer has, so this is one brand leaving the accelerated tier, not the tier closing. The date, honestly: the Insta Deals offer ("Flat 1% OFF", ₹10,000 monthly limit) was already live in the page's own data on 31 August 2026, the reward line still read 5X in the 1 September 16:26 UTC archive capture, and read 1X when this desk fetched the page on 2 September — so 1 September is the community's effective date sitting inside a window we can bracket from primary captures, not a figure HDFC published. The bank has announced nothing and no SmartBuy page carries a notice. Two pieces of context for the size of it: brand vouchers were already sub-capped at 3,000 accelerated points a month from 1 July 2026, and Amazon Pay vouchers disappeared from the portal entirely for stretches of July and August before returning in this shape. Flipkart and Amazon Fresh vouchers still pay the accelerated rate; the ₹10,000-a-month Amazon Pay lane now pays base earn plus the 1% instant discount.
