Amex Platinum Travel pushes its Taj voucher milestone to ₹7L

The 22,500 MR + ₹10,000 Taj voucher milestone on Amex Platinum Travel now needs ₹7L annual spend, up from ₹4L — a 75% higher bar for the card's best-known perk.

Amex Platinum Travel’s signature reward just got 75% more expensive to earn. The 22,500 MR points plus ₹10,000 Taj voucher that used to unlock at ₹4L annual spend now sits behind ₹7L.

The new ladder has three rungs: 7,500 MR at ₹1.9L, another 10,000 MR at ₹4L, and the 22,500 MR plus Taj voucher only at ₹7L. Amex softened the blow two ways — milestone credits are now automatic instead of a manual claim, and anyone who cleared ₹4L before 9 March 2026 keeps the old terms.

Don’t let the sweeteners fool you. For anyone starting fresh, the card’s single best-known redemption now demands ₹3L more spend for the same reward. That is a straightforward devaluation, whatever the press note says.

Our take: if you were carrying this card specifically for the Taj voucher, redo your maths at ₹7L — for a lot of spend profiles, the milestone chase no longer clears.
