Amex retires Gyftr, moves Reward Multiplier to ShopWise
The 5X–10X voucher engine behind Indian Amex MR value switches platforms from Gyftr to ShopWise. Same 200+ brands, same mechanics, new bookmark.
American Express has swapped the plumbing under its Reward Multiplier programme: the e-voucher portal moves from Gyftr to ShopWise as of February 2026. The multipliers that matter — the 5X–10X earn on voucher purchases — carry over, along with the same 200+ brands.
Why do we care about a portal rename? Because Reward Multiplier is a big part of what makes Indian Membership Rewards worth accumulating. At our house valuation of ₹0.50 per MR point, base earn on an Amex is ordinary; it’s the multiplied voucher earn and monthly milestones that lift the maths. Anything that touches that engine gets a headline.
The good news is that this is a re-platforming, not a repricing. No multiplier cuts, no brand purge — at least not in this move.
