AU drops off Air India's Maharaja Club partner list — the AU transfer route is closed
Air India's own Maharaja Club partner index lists 86 partners, IndusInd among them, and AU Small Finance Bank is not one. The Zenith+ 3:2 transfer that put an AU point at about ₹0.67 is gone, and AU points are back to a ₹0.25 closed catalogue.
What changed
Partner change · AU Small Finance Bank
Before
AU Reward Points → Maharaja Club: Zenith+ 3:2, Zenith and Vetta 6:1 (live from Jun-2025)
After
No AU route: Air India's Maharaja Club updates page puts the end of the AU partnership at 31 January 2026, and its partner index, read on 18 August 2026, lists 86 partners, IndusInd among them, and no AU
The only way out of AU’s closed rewards catalogue has gone. Air India’s own Maharaja Club partner index, read in full on 18 August 2026, lists 86 partners. The Indian banks on it are SBI, Axis, ICICI, HDFC, HSBC, YES, Bandhan, RBL, Union, Federal, Karur Vysya, Kotak, IndusInd and DBS. AU Small Finance Bank is not on it. AU’s own conversion page on Air India’s site was already returning page-not-found in early August.
IndusInd joined Maharaja Club alongside AU in 2025 and is still on the list. That makes this AU leaving, not Air India clearing out its bank partners.
What it costs. The loss falls almost entirely on one card. The AU Zenith+ converted at 3:2, worth about ₹0.67 a point at our ₹1 mile anchor and nearly three times AU’s ₹0.25 catalogue rate. It was the one AU card whose points could go somewhere better than the catalogue. The Zenith and Vetta only ever had a decoy 6:1 conversion, which paid about ₹0.17 a point, less than the catalogue itself. Holders of those two cards lose nothing they should have been using.
On the date. When we wrote this, neither AU nor Air India had announced the end. 18 August is the day the delisting was confirmed on Air India’s own page, not a published cut-off, so the route may have stopped working earlier.
Update, 5 October 2026. It did. Air India’s Maharaja Club updates page says the AU Bank partnership ended on 31 January 2026, and that members can no longer earn or convert Maharaja Points on transactions with AU Bank after that date. The route was closed for more than six months before we marked it closed.
Our take. AU points are now worth what AU Rewardz pays for them: ₹0.25 a point on catalogue and travel, ₹0.20 against vouchers, minus a ₹99 + GST fee on every redemption. We have dropped AU Reward Points’ ceiling from ₹0.67 to ₹0.25. The house value was always the catalogue rate, so no card’s earn rate moves. Zenith+ is now worth holding only for its lounges and its 0.99% forex markup. If AU or Air India ever re-lists the partnership, we’ll restore the route.
