ixigo AU earns Nil in 4 categories — 1 point/₹100 in 3

AU Small Finance Bank's ixigo co-brand credit card now earns Nil Reward Points in four categories and 1 Reward Point per ₹100 in three categories, with insurance capped at 100 points per transaction. This change took effect on 22nd December 2024.

AU Small Finance Bank has rewritten the reward structure of its ixigo co-brand credit card. The card previously earned 5 Reward Points per ₹200 across various categories. Now, four categories - rent, education and government, BBPS, and international spends - will earn Nil Reward Points. Three categories - utility, telecom, and insurance - will earn 1 Reward Point per ₹100, with insurance capped at 100 points per transaction.

This change affects cardholders who use their ixigo AU credit card for these categories. The reduced earning rate means cardholders will earn fewer Reward Points, which are worth ₹0.25 each. The changes took effect on 22nd December 2024.

Our take: if you hold the ixigo AU credit card, review your spending to see if the new reward structure still favours your usage. If not, consider alternative redemption options or burn your existing balance before the reduced earnings rate impacts your rewards.
