IndiGo IDFC FIRST's international earn drops to 1 BluChip per ₹100
From 26 October 2026, the IndiGo IDFC FIRST card earns 1 BluChip per ₹100 abroad instead of 3. Its forex markup is already zero, so it still comes out ahead overseas.
What changed
Devaluation · IDFC FIRST Bank
Before
3 IndiGo BluChips per ₹100 on international purchases — the general rate, worth 1.5% at ₹0.50 a chip — behind a forex markup that fell from 1.49% to zero on 9 September 2026
After
1 IndiGo BluChip per ₹100 on international purchases from 26 October 2026, worth 0.5%; the zero forex markup stays
The card this affects

The IndiGo IDFC FIRST product page now ends its rewards block with one sentence: “Effective 26th October 2026, earn 1 IndiGo BluChip on every ₹100 spent on international purchases.”
| International spend | Until 25 Oct 2026 | From 26 Oct 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| BluChips | 3 per ₹100 (~1.5%) | 1 per ₹100 (~0.5%) |
| Forex markup | 0% (was 1.49% until 9 Sep) | 0% |
That’s two-thirds of the points gone on the one category where this card used to beat every other IndiGo co-brand outright. But the forex markup dropped from 1.49% to zero on 9 September, which the same page now advertises in a banner. On ₹1 lakh spent abroad you lose about 2,000 BluChips (₹1,000 at our house value) and save ₹1,490 in markup. The card still comes out ahead overseas; just no longer because of its points.
We’ve also corrected this card’s forex on our pages: it showed 1.49%, and IDFC’s bank-wide MITC has printed NIL since 9 September.
In force from 26 October 2026. The change this post reported is now live: 1 IndiGo BluChip per ₹100 on international purchases from 26 October 2026, worth 0.5%; the zero forex markup stays.
