Qatar Avios quietly returns to Axis — at the punished grid
Three and a half months after nixing it, Axis has put Qatar Airways Privilege Club back on the Travel EDGE roster — but at the post-April ratios: Atlas/Horizon 2:1, Reserve/Magnus 5:1, Magnus for Burgundy 5:2. Only Burgundy Private keeps 5:4.
On 2 April 2026, Axis Bank removed Qatar Airways Privilege Club from its transfer roster with immediate effect, alongside crowd favourites Accor ALL and Marriott Bonvoy. Sometime in July it slipped back in — no announcement, just a new row on the Travel EDGE portal, spotted by LiveFromALounge on 25 July.
The ratios tell the real story. Atlas and Horizon convert EDGE Miles at 2:1 — they enjoyed 1:2 before April, so the same Qsuite award now costs 4× the EDGE Miles. Olympus lands at 1:2 (down from 1:4). On the EDGE Rewards side, Reserve and Magnus convert at 5:1, Magnus for Burgundy at 5:2, and only Burgundy Private — The One card — keeps the old 5:4. That places Qatar tier-for-tier on the same punished grid where BA Executive Club and Finnair Plus landed on 1 April.
Our take: this restores something genuinely useful, just at a steep toll. Avios pool freely across BA, Qatar and Finnair, so the practical loss in April was never “Qatar the partner” — it was cheap Qsuite access from an Axis balance. That access is back, priced at 2× to 4× the old rates depending on your card.
