HDFC Regalia Gold cash-out rate drops — ₹0.15

HDFC Bank has cut the cash-out rate for Regalia Gold Reward Points to ₹0.15 per point. This represents a 25% decrease from the previous rate of ₹0.20 per point. The change was made without notice, with the update being reflected on the product page only. The Redemption Value grid now shows ‘up to Rs 0.15’ for redemption against statement balance. The plain Regalia card has also seen an identical change, with its grid updated from ₹0.20 to ₹0.15. Other redemption options, such as transferring points to airlines or using the Gold Catalogue, remain unchanged. Transferring 1:1 to an airline or spending the Gold Catalogue at ₹0.65 are still better options than cashing out. Our take: never cash out Regalia Gold points. At ₹0.15 they fetch under a quarter of the ₹0.65 Gold Catalogue rate and far less than a 1:1 airline transfer — and HDFC made the cut silently, changing the product page and announcing nothing. The plain Regalia took the identical cut on the same day. Transfer to an airline or spend the catalogue; statement credit is now the worst door in the building.
