IDFC FIRST Mayura cuts travel multipliers — 33% less on hotels, 37% less on flights

IDFC FIRST Mayura's travel multipliers are cut to 40X hotels and 25X flights, resulting in a 33% decrease for hotels and a 37% decrease for flights, with rewards now capped at credit limit. This change reduces the effective return on hotel bookings from 20% to 13.3% and on flights from 13.3% to 8.3%

IDFC FIRST Bank has rolled back the Jun-2025 boost on its Mayura credit card, cutting travel multipliers to 40X for hotels and 25X for flights. Previously, the card offered 60 RP/₹150 on app hotels and 40 RP/₹150 on flights, but now it offers 40 RP/₹150 on hotels and 25 RP/₹150 on flights. The reduction in travel multipliers translates to a decrease in effective return, from 20% to 13.3% for hotel bookings and from 13.3% to 8.3% for flights, assuming a ₹0.50 travel value per reward point. Additionally, the BOGO movie perk now requires ₹20,000 of previous-month spend, and rewards are capped at the credit limit. Our take: if you’re a heavy user of the Mayura card for travel bookings, consider alternative options that offer better rewards. The 0% forex and 5X/10X base rewards survive untouched, but the reduced travel multipliers and capped rewards may make the card less attractive for some users. Review your spending habits and adjust your strategy accordingly to maximize your rewards earnings.
