HDFC hikes DCC markup — 1% to 1.75%
HDFC Bank increases its DCC markup to 1.75% across all cards, effective May 15, 2026. This change impacts all international transactions billed in INR, with no exceptions listed.
HDFC Bank has increased its Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) markup from 1% to 1.75% on all international transactions billed in INR. This change applies to all cards in the HDFC Bank portfolio, including the Infinia and Regalia families, with no exceptions listed. The increased DCC markup will be effective from May 15, 2026, and will impact all transactions where the merchant bills in INR, regardless of whether the transaction is made at a machine abroad or with an India-located merchant registered overseas. To avoid this markup, cardholders should always choose to pay in the merchant’s local currency. The same notice from HDFC Bank also introduces a fee for card reissuance, with non-metal cards costing ₹199 and metal cards costing ₹3,500. This change is part of a broader update to the bank’s terms and conditions, which also includes changes to the earn denominators for certain cards.
