RBL gates lounges — ₹35k/quarter

RBL Bank has introduced a spend requirement of ₹35,000 per quarter to access domestic lounges for its World Safari and Icon cardholders. This change applies from 1 July 2025 and affects the next quarter’s lounge visits. Add-on cardholders will no longer have access to domestic lounges. The spend requirement is a significant change for World Safari cardholders, who previously enjoyed complimentary domestic lounge visits with no spend condition. The new rule means that cardholders must put ₹35,000 of retail spend through their card each quarter to maintain lounge access. Our take: complimentary domestic lounge access with no spend condition was the World Safari’s reason to exist, and it now costs ₹35,000 of retail spend a quarter — ₹1.4 lakh a year — to keep. Add-on cardholders lose it outright, with no amount of spend that buys it back. New holders sit out their first quarter by design. If your spend doesn’t clear ₹35,000 a quarter anyway, you are paying a ₹3,000 annual fee for a lounge door that stays shut.
