Eterna's lifetime-free window closes — first year free from 1 September
BOBCARD's Eterna is no longer lifetime free for new applicants. Since 1 September it's free for the first year only, then ₹2,499 a year unless you spent ₹2.5 lakh the year before.
What changed
Fee change · BOBCARD (Bank of Baroda)
Before
Zero joining and annual fees for life for new applicants — the 'Limited Period Lifetime Free Card Offer', extended 31 Mar → 30 Apr → 30 Jun → 31 Jul 2026 and then left undated
After
₹0 joining/first-year fee w.e.f. 1 Sep 2026 as a limited-period offer with no end date printed; ₹2,499 + GST from the second year, reversed on ₹2,50,000 spent in the preceding card anniversary year
The card this affects

BOBCARD’s Eterna page no longer carries the “Limited Period Lifetime Free Card Offer” banner that was extended four times through 2026. In its place is a fee tile: “W.e.f. 1st September 2026, ₹0 joining/first-year fee. From the second year onwards, spend ₹2,50,000 in the preceding card anniversary year and get your annual fee of ₹2,499 waived off.”
| Before 1 Sep 2026 | From 1 Sep 2026 | |
|---|---|---|
| Joining fee | ₹0 | ₹0 |
| Annual fee | ₹0 for life | ₹2,499 + GST from year two |
| Renewal waiver | — | ₹2,50,000 spent in the previous card year |
Nothing else changed: 15 points per ₹100 on online, dining, travel and international spends (capped at 5,000 a cycle), unlimited domestic lounges behind a ₹75,000-a-quarter spend gate, and 2% forex.
If you got the card before 1 September, it stays lifetime free. If you’re applying now, it costs nothing only if you spend ₹2.5 lakh a year; otherwise it’s a ₹2,499 card after a free first year. BOBCARD hasn’t printed an end date for the new offer either.

Comparisons this changes
BOBCARD Eterna vs YES Bank RESERV
Same ₹2,499 fee, same online-accelerated closed loop — but Eterna pays 3.75% as real statement credit while RESERV's 3% is trapped in a ₹0.25 portal whose only exit is a 15:1 decoy.
BOBCARD Eterna vs AU Ananta
Two small-bank cards, ₹0.25 points each — but Eterna's redeem as flat cashback at 3.75% with unlimited lounges, and Ananta's pay 0.5% behind a ₹99 exit fee. It isn't close.
