AU's new Paytm card gates 12 lounge visits behind Paytm bookings
The Paytm AU Credit Card launches lifetime free with up to 12 domestic lounge visits a year — but each one is unlocked by a ₹5,000+ round-trip flight booked through Paytm Travel, not by spend.
AU Small Finance Bank and Paytm launched a co-branded card on 3 July 2026 with zero joining and zero annual fee and a lounge line that reads better than it works.
The headline is up to 12 complimentary domestic lounge visits a year, maximum four per booking. The catch is how you unlock one: you have to book an eligible round trip of at least ₹5,000 through Paytm Travel, which then generates the QR code that opens the door. Spend on the card does nothing. Book the same flight on the airline’s own site and you get nothing.
Earn is Paytm-ecosystem: up to 2% on Paytm UPI, 5% on Paytm Travel and Paytm Gold, plus the usual 1% fuel-surcharge waiver. AU has not published any airline or hotel transfer route for these rewards, so nothing here becomes a mile.
Our take: this is not a lounge benefit, it is a booking-channel bribe with a lounge attached. If Paytm is already where you buy flights, twelve free visits for ₹0 a year is genuinely hard to argue with. If it isn’t, the lounge count on the marketing page is a number you will never reach — and a card that earns nothing transferable has no place in a points deck.
