Lufthansa Miles & More goes dynamic — 50,000 miles for Europe-India economy
Lufthansa Miles & More has introduced dynamic pricing for awards on Lufthansa Group metal, with prices based on cash fares and no published table. Europe-India routes on partner metal still cost 50,000 miles in economy and 125,000 miles in business round-trip.
Lufthansa Miles & More has switched to dynamic pricing for awards on Lufthansa Group metal. This means that awards operated by Lufthansa, Lufthansa City, Austrian, and SWISS are now priced based on the cash fare, with no published table. The fixed chart has been retained for partner airlines, with some changes to pricing. For example, Europe-North America premium economy now costs 85,000 miles round-trip, while business class costs 125,000 miles and First class costs 215,000 miles. Economy fares have fallen by up to 10,000 miles on some long-haul routes. The monthly Mileage Bargains and Flex Plus bookings have been withdrawn. For Indian cardholders, the Europe-India route on partner metal still costs 50,000 miles in economy and 125,000 miles in business round-trip. The dynamic pricing system has been in place since June 3, 2025. Observations over the past 14 months have shown that the dynamic prices are often cheaper than initially expected, but the cash surcharge has increased. The two Axis Miles & More cards, which are the only Indian cards that earn Miles & More miles, are affected by this change. Cardholders will need to check the prices for their specific routes and travel dates, rather than relying on a fixed chart. This change may affect the value proposition of these cards for Indian travellers. Our take: the two Axis Miles & More cards are the only Indian way into this currency, and their one plannable number survives — Europe–India on partner metal still costs 50,000 miles in economy and 125,000 in business round-trip. Everything on Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian and Lufthansa City is now a shadow of the cash fare with no table to aim at, and the Mileage Bargains that made this programme fun are gone. Redeem on partner metal and treat any Group award as a spot check, not a plan.
