Vistara and Lufthansa launch reciprocal frequent-flyer deal

Vistara and Lufthansa have upgraded their relationship from codeshare to full frequent-flyer partnership. Club Vistara members can now earn and redeem CV Points on Lufthansa flights, and Miles & More members get the reciprocal deal on Vistara metal.

Until today the two-year-old tie-up was codeshare only — you could book the flights, but the loyalty currencies didn’t cross the aisle. Now Club Vistara plugs into Lufthansa’s roughly 200-destination network, which transforms what a CV Point can actually do.

That matters because Club Vistara has been a fundamentally domestic currency. This is its first real long-haul earning bridge — a way to feed CV balances from Europe-bound flying, and to burn them beyond India, before the Star Alliance-via-Air India era begins.

Our take: CV Points just got more useful without getting more expensive, which is the best kind of loyalty news. If you fly Vistara domestically and Lufthansa to Europe, stop letting those trips credit nowhere.
