Amex delinks Taj Epicure dining plan from InnerCircle status
Amex Platinum Charge holders lose the bundle where Taj InnerCircle Silver status automatically included the Epicure dining plan. The two are now separate enrolments.
American Express has quietly unbundled one of the Platinum Charge Card’s tidiest perks. Until now, the card’s Taj InnerCircle Silver status automatically carried the Epicure dining plan with it — one enrolment, two benefits. From September, they’re separate enrolments that have to be tracked and claimed independently.
Nothing has been removed on paper. Both benefits still exist. What’s been removed is the automation, and in the perks game, friction is a nerf that never has to be announced. A benefit you have to remember to enrol for is a benefit a meaningful chunk of cardholders will simply never use.
That matters more on this card than most. The Taj bundle is one of the genuinely India-specific reasons to hold a charge card with a fee this heavy, and it just got easier to fumble.
Our take: minor severity, real cost. If you hold the Platinum Charge, enrol for both — separately, today — and set a calendar reminder for renewals. Amex is betting you won’t.
