Taj InnerCircle flattens point values, axes a Platinum perk
From October 16, 2019, every old TIC point converts to five new ones at a flat ₹1 value, and Epicure dining points fold in at 1:10. Platinum members had already lost their three complimentary annual experiences on August 1.
Taj InnerCircle is “simplifying” — and you know what that word means by now. From October 16, 2019, every old TIC point converts to five new ones at a standardized flat ₹1 per point, and the separate Epicure dining points fold in at a 1:10 rate. Where redemption value used to vary by category, it’s now one number for everything.
The flattening isn’t even the worst of it. Platinum members quietly lost their three complimentary annual experiences back on August 1 — weeks before this restructure landed. And there’s a new use-it-or-lose-it clause: go a full year with zero earning or redemption activity and the program forfeits your points outright.
A flat chart, a vanished elite perk, and a forfeiture rule, all inside three months.
Our take: flat ₹1 per point is at least honest — you always know what your balance is worth. But “simplification” that arrives with a deleted Platinum benefit and a new expiry trap is a devaluation wearing a clean shirt. Keep some activity ticking every year, or Taj keeps your points.
