How we got this ₹ figure

₹1.00 is our HOUSE value for a point — what a disciplined traveller actually clears, not the best redemption we have ever seen (₹1.00, the ceiling) and not the worst you can always fall back on (₹1.00, the floor). It is the number every route on this page is priced with.

We hold one dated point for Citibank Hutch Talk Points — the mark itself. There is no earlier valuation on our record, so this page shows no trend line rather than drawing one. How we value a point →

Hutch Citibank Credit Card2.0%Citibank

THE ISSUER PRICED ITS OWN UNIT, which is rarer in this family than it should be. Citibank's Hutch card page, verbatim: "One Talk Point has a redeemable value of Re. 1", and "These Talk Points can be redeemed for free airtime against" the holder's Hutch bill. Earn was "3 Talk Points for every Rs. 100 spent on your Hutch bills" and "2 Talk Points for every Rs. 100 spent elsewhere" — so 3% on the phone bill and 2% everywhere else at the stated rate, which made it the best pure earner Citi India ever put on a rupee card. A ROW OF ITS OWN, NOT `citi-reward-points`. The generic Citibank Reward Point marks at ₹0.70 and is a catalogue point; this is a different unit with a different name, a different price and exactly one rail. Folding them together would overpay one card by 43% and misprice the other. NOT `inr-cashback` EITHER, and the header's test is why: the unit is not a rupee credited to the CARD account. It is airtime credited against a MOBILE bill, from a network that no longer exists — Hutch became Vodafone in 2007 and Vi thereafter. FLAT, because one rail and one stated rate leave no band. And no transfer row: the page names no partner programme of any kind.
