What changed
Devaluation · IDFC FIRST Bank
Before
A closed-to-new-applications Club Vistara IDFC FIRST card, still earning Maharaja Points at 6 per ₹200 on the first ₹1,00,000 of a billing cycle, ₹4,999 to renew.
After
The programme ends on 30 September 2026. From 1 October 2026 the card takes no transactions. Maharaja Points earned through 30 September transfer to the linked Maharaja Club account. The product-page FAQ that links the notice closes a clear account the same day.
The card this affects
The last Vistara co-brand on an Indian bank’s books is done. IDFC FIRST Bank’s cardmember notice ends the Club Vistara IDFC FIRST programme on 30 September 2026. From 1 October 2026 the card takes no transactions.
What the notice says, and what it leaves out:
- Points. Maharaja Points earned on eligible spends up to 30 September go to the linked Maharaja Club account. Nothing earned after that.
- The account. The product page that links the notice says a card with no dues closes on 1 October. A balance or a running EMI keeps it open for statements and repayment until it is cleared. Add-on cards and FIRST Digital cards on the account stop the same day.
- No named successor. The notice does not name a replacement card and does not waive the ₹4,999 fee still printed on the product page. One blog reports that holders are being offered a lifetime-free Diamond Reserve. No IDFC document we could find says so, so we are not printing it. Diamond Reserve stays in our rankings at its published ₹3,000.
The letter says the ending was “communicated in January 2026”. The September notice is the one that fixes the 1 October stop.

IDFC FIRST Bank's own upgrade question: ₹4,999/yr against ₹5,999/yr — the dearer card prints the lower headline rate, 1.7% to 3.0%, yet out-earns it after fees at 15 of the 20 spend levels we model.
