Scapia lands on Axis — the zero-fee, zero-forex card gets its third bank
Axis now issues the Scapia card: no joining or annual fee, nil forex and DCC markup, and Scapia's usual coin earn. Federal Bank and BOBCARD were the only issuers before.
What changed
Launch · Axis Bank
Before
Scapia issued only through Federal Bank and BOBCARD
After
Scapia Axis Bank Credit Card live on Mastercard with a RuPay twin: ₹0 joining and annual fee, nil forex and DCC markup, unlimited domestic lounge on ₹20,000 monthly spend
The card this affects
Scapia’s zero-fee travel card now has a third issuer. Axis Bank’s member terms say it in one line: “There is no joining fee and annual fee for Scapia Axis Bank Credit Card.” Axis’s Key Fact Statement of 17 September adds a Scapia column that prints INR 0 for both fees and nil forex and DCC markup.
What you get, in real money (5 Scapia coins = ₹1):
- 10% in coins on the Mastercard, which is 2% back.
- 20% in coins on bookings in the Scapia app, which is 4%.
- 5% in coins on the RuPay twin for UPI spends of ₹500 or more, which is 1%.
- Unlimited domestic lounge access once you spend ₹20,000 in a month.
The coins can only be spent inside Scapia’s app. The card itself hasn’t changed; the bank has. Scapia used to depend on Federal Bank or BOBCARD approving you, and a nationwide private lender now does that too.

Comparisons this changes
IndusInd Tiger vs Scapia (Axis Bank)
Two lifetime-free travel cards with no annual fee at all. Scapia pays 2% back in Scapia coins and charges zero forex mark-up; Tiger pays 1% in IndusInd points and charges 1.5% abroad.
Scapia (Federal Bank) vs Scapia (Axis Bank)
Scapia's card from two banks, built on one engine: the same coins at five to the rupee, spendable only in the Scapia app, 10% on card spend and 20% on app flights and hotels, 0% forex, no fee, and unlimited domestic lounges on ₹20,000 of the previous month's spend. The page's value model scores the two level at every spend level it tests, so the issuer's fine print decides it: Federal's is a Visa card and Axis's a Mastercard, each with a RuPay twin for UPI, and Federal's coins expire after 36 months where Axis publishes no expiry.
Scapia (Axis Bank) vs Scapia (BOBCARD)
Same points, and neither card transfers anywhere — the redemption catalogue is the ceiling for both, so this one is decided on earn and fee, nothing else: 2.0% at no fee at all against 2.0% at no fee at all.
