HSBC buffs Live+ three days after gutting TravelOne
From 26 July 2026 the HSBC Live+ adds a complimentary international lounge visit, moves to Visa Infinite with ITC stays and Avis benefits, and lifts its monthly cashback cap from ₹1,000 to ₹1,200.
HSBC India spent 1 July making the TravelOne harder to earn. Three days later it told Live+ holders their card is getting better from 26 July 2026.
The changes, sent by email to existing cardholders: 10% cashback extends beyond shopping and utility bills to food, dining and grocery, and the monthly cap rises from ₹1,000 to ₹1,200. Fuel picks up ₹250 a quarter on eligible contactless transactions.
The travel bit is the real news. Live+ gains one complimentary international airport lounge visit a year — a benefit it simply did not have — and migrates to the Visa Infinite platform, which brings airport meet-and-assist, complimentary stays at ITC Hotels and Avis car-rental benefits. HSBC has published no press release; this is a cardholder communication, and the T&C page is where it will show up.
Our take: Live+ still earns cashback, so it will never feed a transfer partner and it will never be a points card. But one international lounge visit and ITC nights on a card at this tier is not filler. The honest read of HSBC’s month: the transfer hub got stingier at the front door, and the everyday card got a real upgrade. If you hold both, you came out ahead.
