SBI kills Etihad Guest cards — 0 miles/₹100

SBI Card has deactivated its Etihad Guest SBI Card and Etihad Guest SBI Premier, which earned up to 6 Etihad Guest Miles per ₹100 spent on etihad.com. Cardholders have been reissued an SBI MILES card that earns SBI Travel Credits instead. The change took effect from December 2025, with the old cards deactivated either when the replacement was activated or on 31 March 2026. Spend already made on the Etihad card will count toward the new card’s fee-reversal milestone in the same annual fee cycle. This move eliminates India’s only direct 6 miles/₹100 earning rate into Etihad Guest, which is now only available through BOBCARD’s co-brands launched in January 2026. The substance is that a valuable transfer route has been lost, with Etihad Guest losing its biggest Indian issuer just months after Amex closed its own Etihad transfer route. Our take: if you’re an Etihad Guest SBI Card holder, you’ve already been force-swapped into a less rewarding card. Review your rewards strategy and consider alternative cards that earn transferable currencies or more valuable miles.
