HDFC Diners Club Black stacks on Prime, Zomato Gold, MMT Black
From November 1, 2019, Diners Club Black adds Amazon Prime, Zomato Gold, MakeMyTrip Double Black and Times Prime memberships, plus a monthly voucher at ₹80,000 spend. HDFC also launched a new Diners Privilege tier at a ₹2,500 fee.
Mark the date: HDFC actually added value to a card. From November 1, 2019, Diners Club Black’s welcome bundle grows from a fairly thin membership package into a genuine stack — Amazon Prime, Zomato Gold, MakeMyTrip Double Black and Times Prime, all thrown in. There’s a monthly voucher kicker too, unlocked at ₹80,000 spend.
HDFC also plugged the hole in its Diners lineup. A new Diners Privilege variant launches at a ₹2,500 fee, sitting between the mass-market Diners cards and Black — a tier that simply didn’t exist before.
Two years after HDFC gutted Regalia and Diners reward values in 2017, this is the bank moving in the opposite direction for once: buffing its flagship instead of quietly clawing value back.
Our take: memberships are the cheapest currency an issuer can hand out — they cost HDFC a negotiated pittance and you’d probably buy Prime anyway. Still, free is free, and stacked on Diners Black’s earning engine this bundle makes the fee easier to clear. Take the buff; just don’t confuse it with a better reward rate.
