JetPrivilege Signs Up Air Berlin as Its 25th Partner Airline

Effective June 1, 2015, JetPrivilege struck a reciprocal earn-and-burn deal with Air Berlin's topbonus programme, making the German carrier JPMiles' 25th airline partner and extending redemptions deeper into Germany and Europe.

JetPrivilege’s partner list just ticked over to 25. Effective June 1, 2015, the programme has a reciprocal arrangement with Air Berlin’s topbonus: JPMiles now earn and burn on Air Berlin metal, and topbonus members can do the same on Jet Airways.

Until today the network was capped at 24 carriers, so this is genuine expansion rather than a reshuffle. Air Berlin gives JPMiles collectors new routes across Germany and the rest of Europe — useful reach for a programme whose international redemption map has always leaned on a handful of Gulf and Asian partners.

It’s a small deal in isolation, but it’s the right direction: a loyalty currency is only as good as the seats it can buy, and JetPrivilege just bought access to more of them.

Our take: partner number 25 won’t change your strategy, but more burn options for the same JPMiles is a straight buff. Take it.
