IndusInd JetPrivilege card kills weekend miles bonanza

The IndusInd JetPrivilege co-brand scraps its bonus JPMiles on weekend Jet Airways bookings, effective April 1, 2016, with no advance notice.

The IndusInd JetPrivilege co-brand quietly stopped paying its weekend earning bonus today. Bonus JPMiles on Jet Airways bookings made on weekends — gone, effective April 1, 2016, with no advance notice.

On paper this is a minor cut. In practice it stings a very specific crowd: the cardholders who built an entire booking strategy around it, timing Saturday-morning Jet fares to farm the bonus. That game is over, and nobody got a heads-up.

It’s also not travelling alone. This is one of three simultaneous cuts landing on Indian premium cardholders in the same week, alongside the Citi Prestige benefit strip and the HDFC Diners 10x closure. Issuers apparently coordinated their calendars, and April Fool’s Day was the punchline.

Our take: minor nerf, maximum pettiness — killing a weekend bonus with zero notice tells you exactly how much this co-brand values the people who actually gamed it well. Book Jet fares whenever you like now; the card no longer cares.
