ICICI gates its BookMyShow movie perk behind quarterly spend

From 1 February 2026, ICICI's complimentary BookMyShow ticket offer requires ₹25,000 spend in the preceding quarter; Instant Platinum loses the benefit entirely.

ICICI’s free-movie era is over. From 1 February 2026, the complimentary BookMyShow ticket offer — previously attached to no spend condition at all — requires ₹25,000 of spend in the preceding quarter. Instant Platinum doesn’t even get that option: it loses the benefit entirely.

On its own, a movie ticket is a small perk. But context matters: this lands as part of the same February devaluation wave that also killed several reward categories across ICICI’s lineup. The bank didn’t cut one benefit; it repriced its whole idea of what a cardholder gets for free.

The signal is the point. ICICI is done handing out lifestyle perks with no spend attached. Every “complimentary” benefit now has a meter running behind it.

Our take: minor nerf, major tell. If your ICICI card’s appeal was built on unconditional freebies, start auditing the rest of them — this is how issuers phase perks out, one quarter-gate at a time.
