DreamFolks exits India's domestic lounges — the door everyone used just closed
DreamFolks stopped domestic lounge access from 16 September 2025 after Adani, Semolina Kitchens and Encalm pulled their lounges off its platform. The aggregator behind most Indian cards' 'complimentary lounge' line is gone, and access now splinters across Adani LoungeOne, Encalm and Elite Assist.
The plumbing under Indian lounge access just ripped out. On 16 September 2025 DreamFolks — the aggregator that quietly stood behind almost every “complimentary domestic lounge” line on an Indian credit card — stopped its domestic lounge services. Adani Digital, Semolina Kitchens and Encalm had all served notices pulling their lounges off the platform.
The backstory is pure hardball. Adani reportedly approached DreamFolks for a takeover, got turned down, and simply built its own rail — LoungeOne — with GMR/Encalm aboard. Travel Food Services, which touches roughly 37 Indian lounges, also wanted out. Strip those suppliers away and the aggregator has almost nothing left to aggregate.
For cardholders this is not a footnote, it’s chaos. If your card promised lounge access “via DreamFolks,” you can no longer assume the QR code works at the door. Banks now have to re-paper access airport by airport with Adani LoungeOne, Encalm or Elite Assist — and the coverage maps don’t match. IDFC FIRST moved debit customers to Elite Assist. ICICI had already phased out domestic DreamFolks access in July 2025. Everyone else is scrambling.
Our take: this is the single biggest structural shift to Indian lounge access in years, and it changes how you should read every lounge benefit we track. “X free domestic visits” now carries an asterisk until the issuer confirms which network actually honours it. Until the dust settles, treat domestic lounge access as a maybe, not a given — and carry a backup card from a different bank.
