HDFC launches Regalia Gold, a new super-premium travel card
HDFC announced Regalia Gold on March 23, 2023, slotting it above the ageing Regalia with global lounge access, airmiles-focused milestone benefits, and complimentary Club Vistara Silver and MakeMyTrip Black Elite tiers. It gives upgrade-seeking Regalia holders a rung below Infinia and Diners Black Metal.
HDFC has a new rung on its ladder. Regalia Gold, announced March 23, 2023, sits above the ageing Regalia — which until now topped out the bank’s upper-mid travel lineup — and pushes into super-premium territory.
The headline kit: global lounge access, airmiles-focused milestone benefits, and two status tiers thrown in for free — Club Vistara Silver and MakeMyTrip Black Elite. That’s a real step up from plain Regalia, and it’s clearly built for the traveller who has outgrown it but hasn’t been handed an Infinia invite.
Strategically, this is HDFC plugging a gap. Regalia holders itching to upgrade now have somewhere to go that isn’t a rival bank, while Infinia and Diners Black Metal stay untouched at the very top of the pyramid.
Our take: a launch, not a nerf — rare enough in 2023 to note. If you’re a Regalia holder who actually flies, Regalia Gold is the upgrade conversation HDFC wants you to have.
