IndusInd Pinnacle cash redemption cut 25% — ₹0.25 less

IndusInd Bank has cut the cash redemption value of its Pinnacle card from ₹1 to ₹0.75 per reward point. This change, effective from 15 March 2022, reduces the card’s online return from 2.5% to 1.875%. The cut impacts cardholders who rely on the Pinnacle for its cashback benefits, particularly those who use it for online spends. With the reduced redemption value, cardholders will now get less cash back on their purchases. Our take: ₹1 to ₹0.75 a point drops the Pinnacle’s online return from 2.5% to 1.875% — IndusInd deleted a quarter of the card’s cash value in a single circular. If you held this card as a cashback play, that thesis is dead; 1.875% is ordinary. Redeem the balance you are sitting on at the new rate and move your online spend to a card that still pays for it.
