How we got this ₹ figure

₹1.00 is our HOUSE value for a point — what a disciplined traveller actually clears, not the best redemption we have ever seen (₹1.00, the ceiling) and not the worst you can always fall back on (₹1.00, the floor). It is the number every route on this page is priced with.

We hold one dated point for SBI Railway Points — the mark itself. There is no earlier valuation on our record, so this page shows no trend line rather than drawing one. How we value a point →

SBI Railway Card0.8%SBI Card

PRICED BY THE PROGRAMME, IN A PARENTHESIS, verbatim from SBI Card's own pre-migration product page: "350 bonus SBI Railway Points (1 SBI Railway point = Re. 1) … These SBI Railway points can be redeemed against Railway tickets." One rail, one rate, one sentence. Floor and ceiling are that same number because there is nothing else to spend it on: no catalogue, no statement credit, no partner, no cash — "Cash-in your Railway Points on irctc.co.in for a free ticket" is the whole exit. WHY THIS IS NOT `irctc-reward-points`, which is the question the next agent will ask, because both are ₹1 to a train fare on irctc.co.in. Three answers. (1) DIFFERENT LEDGER: these points were Indian Railways', accrued through "your complimentary membership to Shubh Yatra-Scheme for Frequent Travellers (SOFT) by Indian Railways" as "upto 10% of your AC (except 3 AC) ticket fare", plus 1 point per ₹125 of retail spend on the card. `irctc-reward-points` is the 2024-era co-brand currency that lives in SBI's and RBL's own reward engines. (2) DIFFERENT BAND: that row's floor is ₹0.25 BECAUSE SBI's modern points drift to a catalogue off the rails; these had no catalogue to drift to, so the band is a point. (3) THE JOIN: `currency` is a graph edge, and landing a card withdrawn around 2013 on the live IRCTC hub would print it as an earner beside IRCTC SBI Card Premier — the exact failure this file's Citi, Barclays and ABN AMRO rows each refuse in their own words. A FROZEN-ERA MARK. The programme is gone with the card, so ₹1.00 is not a forecast; it is the last published rate, held at par with no haircut because there is no live redemption left to measure a haircut against. Do not "re-mark" this row on rupee movement — there is nothing behind it to move.
